Subspace-Based Localization and Inverse Scattering of Multiply Scattering Point Targets
The nonlinear inverse scattering problem of estimating the locations and scattering strengths or reflectivities of a number of small, point-like inhomogeneities (targets) to a known background medium from single-snapshot active wave sensor array data is

Low and high orders light scattering within the dispersible media. [PDF]
Sprays, aerosols as well as other industrially relevant turbid media can be characterized by light scattering techniques. However these techniques often fall into the intermediate scattering regime where the average number of times a photon is ...

New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Scaling law for the photon spectral density in the nonlinear Thomson-Compton scattering
We derive a new scaling law for the photon spectral density in nonlinear Thomson/Compton scattering, extending the findings of Heinzl, Seipt, and Kämpfer [Phys. Rev. A 81, 022125 (2010)PLRAAN1050-294710.1103/PhysRevA.81.022125]. This allows one to easily

On asymptotic completeness of scattering in the nonlinear Lamb system, II [PDF]
We establish the asymptotic completeness in the nonlinear Lamb system for hyperbolic stationary states. For the proof we construct a trajectory of a reduced equation (which is a nonlinear nonautonomous ordinary differential equation) converging to a hyperbolic stationary point using the inverse function theorem in a Banach space.

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...

Gamma-ray Vortex Burst in Nonlinear Thomson Scattering with Refocusing Spiral Plasma Mirror
The gamma-ray vortex burst in the nonlinear Thomson scattering when the laser wakefield accelerated electron bunch collides with an ultra-intense Laguerre–Gaussian laser that was reflected from the refocusing spiral plasma mirror.
