Machine Learning‐Based Turbulence Intensity Estimation Near Convective Clouds in East Asia Using GK‐2A Satellite Observations

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 23, 16 December 2025.
Abstract The detection of atmospheric turbulence, particularly near deep convection, are essential for flight safety and efficiency. Geostationary satellites provide continuous coverage where radar is unavailable, but their lack of vertical information limits detection to upper levels.

Recent Advances in χ(2)‐Based Nonlinear Frequency Conversion of Fiber Lasers

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 6, Issue 12, December 2025.
Visible and mid‐infrared fiber lasers, enabled by nonlinear frequency conversion of fiber lasers, offer several advantages such as high efficiency, excellent wavelength tunability, high power, and superior beam quality that are highly desirable for practical applications. This study provides a comprehensive review of recent research progress in the χ(2)

Optimal Chirality Enhances Long‐Range Fluctuation‐Induced Interactions in Active Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 46, December 11, 2025.
Chiral active particles move along curved trajectories arising from the interplay of propulsion and self‐rotation. How chirality influences fluctuation‐induced forces in active matter systems remains unclear. It is shown that particle shape dictates this effect: chirality suppresses forces for circular particles but can enhance them for elongated ones,

Symbolic Reservoir Computing within Memristive Crossbar Arrays as a Cellular Automata

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 12, December 2025.
In quest of a neuro‐symbolic system with both strong intelligent computing capability and better explainability, a memristor crossbar array‐based cellular automata (symbolic model) for reservoir computing (neural network) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated using an algorithm–hardware codesign approach.

Supercurrents and Tunneling in Massive Many‐Vortex Necklaces and Star‐Lattices

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 537, Issue 12, December 2025.
It is numerically shown how massive many‐vortex systems, in a mixture of Bose–Einstein condensates, can host the bosonic tunneling of the infilling component in an almost‐periodic way when the vortices are organized in necklaces or star‐lattices. The purpose is to explore the conditions for the onset of Josephson supercurrents in rotating many‐vortex ...
