Programmable crack dynamics engineering enables flexible strain sensors with high linearity

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
First‐decoupling theoretical framework of crack evolution elucidating the control methods, mechanistic insights, and structure‐activity relationships is established. Crack propagation from uncontrollable randomness systematically evolves into spatially ordered states.

Predicting EU Emissions Allowance Prices Using Macroeconomic Indicators and Hybrid AI Models

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Predicting carbon allowance prices has grown more crucial in relation to carbon market regulation, financial strategy, and environmental policy development. This study examines a hybrid forecasting system that combines deep learning with ensemble machine learning models to forecast the price fluctuations of EU Emissions Allowance (EUAs) within

Nonlinear and Chaotic Dynamics: An Economist's Guide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In recent years, research in both mathematics and the applied sciences has produced a revolution in the understanding of nonlinear dynamical systems. Used widely in economics and other disciplines to model change over time, these systems are now known to

Embracing Complexity in HRM Research: A Call for System and Process Perspectives

open access: yesHuman Resource Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Human resource management (HRM) is inherently complex. It involves systems of principles, practices, and activities operating at individual, group, organizational, and macro levels, which are interlinked through complex processes. Yet, empirical research has not kept pace with this conceptual richness.

Nonlinear analysis, instability and routes to chaos of a cracked rotating shaft [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The aim of this paper is to explore the dynamical response of a rotating shaft with a cracked transverse section. This complex problem is distilled down to the study of a very comprehensive mechanical system composed of two non-cracked rigid bars ...

Multimode Phonon Lasing via Self‐Induced Optical Coherent Pumping

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A silicon optomechanical nanobeam generates self‐sustained phonon lasing in multiple competing mechanical modes via self‐pulsing, an intrinsic optical modulation arising from cavity nonlinearity. This self‐organized mechanism enables robust multi‐frequency operation spanning periodic, quasi‐periodic, and chaotic regimes without external modulation. The

Synchronization Dynamics of Modified Relay-coupled Chaotic Systems

open access: yes, 2018
In this manuscript, we study the dynamics of a modified relay-coupled chaotic systems. The modification consists on the fact that the relay unit is modeled to lead the entire network to a desired dynamics.

On the analyzing of bifurcation properties of the one‐dimensional Mackey–Glass model by using a generalized approach

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
The goal of this work is to look at how a nonlinear model describes hematopoiesis and its complexities utilizing commonly used techniques with historical and material links. Based on time delay, the Mackey–Glass model is explored in two instances. To offer a range, the relevance of the parameter impacting stability (bifurcation) is recorded.
