ABSTRACT Multiple models and feature sets have been generated, which attempt to predict the crystallization of nepheline (NaAlSiO4) in high‐level radioactive waste (HLW) glasses under canister centerline cooling (CCC) conditions. Earlier models were found to be overly conservative, while newer models had a not insignificant rate of false positives and ...

Shear-Driven Particle Size Segregation: Models, Analysis, Numerical Solutions, and Experiments
Granular materials segregate by particle size when subject to shear, as in avalanches. Particles roll and slide across one another, and other particles fall into the voids that form, with smaller particles more likely to fit than larger particles.
