Strategies for Assessing Post‐Wildfire Geomorphic Resilience in Semiarid Rivers

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We review and summarize diverse components of a catchment that can be monitored after wildfire to assess the geomorphic resilience of the river corridor in semiarid regions. We distinguish upland portions of river catchments from river corridors.

Mathematical modeling of mass transfer in microvascular wall and interstitial space

open access: yes, 1990
A one-dimensional, unsteady-state mathematical model was developed to describe the transfer of macromolecules across a microvascular wall and into the interstitial space. The proposed theoretical model accounts for both molecular diffusion and convective

Industry Structure and Green Future: The Role of Medium and High‐Tech Industries on the Environment

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper examines the relationship between medium‐ and high‐tech industries and CO2 emissions in BRICS economies, with particular attention to short‐ and long‐run effects from the perspectives of the Porter, Decoupling, and Green Technology Diffusion hypotheses.

A convex “Ferguson plot” of polystyrene particles in electrophoresis on 0.25 to 2.0 % polyacrylamide (30 % Bis-crosslinked)

open access: yes, 1987
The plot of log(mobility) vs. gel concentration for polystyrene particles of 26.9 and 44.2 nm radius in 30% Bis-crosslinked polyacrylamide below 2.2 %T, containing 22.5% Metrizamide and 6 M urea, is convex.

Breaking Inversion Symmetry via Vanadium Coordination Engineering in Bismuth Vanadium Selenites

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Vanadium coordination engineering induces symmetry breaking in bismuth selenites by transforming symmetry‐compensated VO6/VO5F units into directionally aligned VO5 polyhedra. The resulting non‐antiparallel vanadyl arrangement eliminates dipole cancellation and stabilizes a polar noncentrosymmetric framework with nonlinear optical activity.

Hydrogen‐Based Reduction of Hematitic Iron Ore in a Fluidized Bed Kinetic Reactor at Elevated Pressures

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study investigates the reduction behavior of two international iron ores, including a synthetic hematite produced by oxidation of magnetite, in a novel fluidized‐bed kinetic reactor at elevated pressures. The reduction takes place at various temperatures (650°C, 700°C, and 750°C), and various hydrogen partial pressures (30, 55, and 80 vol% H2 ...

Geometry‐Aware Alignment and Comparison of Hierarchical Morse Complexes with Applications

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Scalar fields derived from 3D X‐ray CT scans of samples undergoing ex situ processes, such as thermal aging, chemical etching, or mechanical stress, pose unique challenges for characterizing similarities and differences across acquisitions. Typically, a sample A (source) is imaged, removed, and subjected to experimental conditions that alter ...
