On the static analysis of structures with strong geometric nonlinearity

Computers & Structures, 1980
Abstract Highly flexible structures, such as cable systems or inflatable shells, derive their ability to support their own weight and other loads from some secondary loading (e.g., pretensioning or pressurization). These structures can have very strong geometric nonlinearities when this secondary loading is small.

NONLINEAR STATIC ANALYSIS OF END-FITTINGS FOR GFRP-PRESTRESSING RODS

Computers & Structures, 1983
Abstract This contribution affords an insight into a current research project about end fittings for pretensioned GFRP rods. The purpose of the present paper is to show that the ADINA-FE-program can be modified by the user at reasonable expense for the analysis of structures and materials whose properties cannot be reproduced adequately by the ...

Sensitivity Analysis: Nonlinear Static Spring Systems

2009
In design we perform an analysis and then we often “tweak” a design parameter and repeat the analysis to see if the design performance improves. In optimization we compute gradients of the cost and constraint functions to guide us through the design space and ultimately arrive at a design that satisfies the Karush-Kuhn Tucker optimality criteria*.

Nonlinear analysis of static and dynamic stability of metallic chimneys

Thin-Walled Structures, 1994
Abstract Due to the situations arising from pollution, the problem of equipping the industrial metallic chimneys (or their extensions, using additional segments) with special antipolluting devices, is of general concern in most of the industrialized countries. The antipolluting devices or the extensions of the chimneys introduce extral loadings.

Nonlinear static analysis of smart laminated composite plate

Aerospace Science and Technology, 2011
Abstract In this paper, a third order shear deformation theory is used to study the behavior of laminated smart composite plate with magnetostrictive layers, while accounting for geometric nonlinearity in the von-Karman sense. A coupled analysis of magnetostrictive material is presented where Terfenol-D is used as a magnetostrictive material to ...

Analysis of quasi-static assumption in nonlinear finFET model

2008
The construction and validation of a quasi-static nonlinear microwave model for FinFETs are investigated. A very good agreement between model simulations and measurements is obtained under different DC bias points, input power levels, fundamental frequencies up to 5 GHz, and device geometries.

Nonlinear static and dynamic analysis of framed structures

Computers & Structures, 1979
Abstract The present study is concerned with methods of nonlinear static and dynamic analysis of structures, particularly for application to geometrically nonlinear space frames. The displacement formulation of the finite element method is adopted.

Comparison of nonlinear static analysis and nonlinear dynamic analysis for reinforced concrete structures

2020
ÖZET BETONARME YAPILAR İÇİN LİNEER OLMAYAN STATİK ANALİZ VE LİNEER OLMAYAN DİNAMİK ANALİZ YÖNTEMLERİNİN KARŞILAŞTIRILMASI Bu çalışmada, betonarme yapıların sismik analizinde lineer olmayan statik analiz (itme analizi) yönteminin etkinliğinin görülmesi amaçlanmıştır. Değerlendirme yapmak için 4 adet betonarme bina kullanılmıştır.
