3D‐Printed Architected Material for the Generation of Foam‐Based Protective Equipment
This study investigates 3D‐printed architected structures as alternatives to traditional foams in protective gear. It focuses on customizing impact strength and damping through design and manufacturing integration. Testing shows these structures outperform conventional foams, offering enhanced customizability, lower weight, and tunable performance ...

Observability of nonlinear systems [PDF]
Observability of a general nonlinear system—given in terms of an ODE $\dot{x}=f(x)$ and an output map $y=c(x)$—is defined as in linear system theory (i.e. if $f(x)=Ax$ and $c(x)=Cx$). In contrast to standard treatment of the subject we present a criterion for observability which is not a generalization of a known linear test.

Multilayering of TiN film with metallic Ti film is adopted to enhance the fracture resistance of TiN thin films. Plastic dissipation within Ti with process zone size of ≈250 nm, along with elastic–plastic mismatch driven changes to crack driving force enhances the crack growth resistance by ten times, enabling physics informed design of optimized ...
