Compensating nonlinear temperature dependence of ultrasonic motor
Ultrasonics, 2021This article aims at realizing the linear parameter-varying (LPV) controller synthesis to compensate temperature dependence for the ultrasonic motor (USM). Initially, based on the improved optimal frequency tracking scheme, the compact LPV model is investigated to approximate the nonlinear temperature dependence.

Imaging the Nonlinear Ultrasonic Parameter of a Medium
Ultrasonic Imaging, 1983A technique for imaging the nonlinear ultrasonic parameter B/A has been developed. The nonlinear parameter describes the dependence of ultrasonic velocity on pressure and may well provide a new and powerful tool for characterizing both biological and nonbiological media.

Nonlinear ultrasonic attenuation in glasses
Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1974Measurements of the attenuation of longitudinal sound waves of frequencies between 730 MHz and 1400 MHz were made on a borosilicate glass at temperatures from 0.4 K to 2 K. For high acoustic intensity J the absorption decreases with decreasing temperature.

Predictive simulation of nonlinear ultrasonics
SPIE Proceedings, 2012Most of the nonlinear ultrasonic studies to date have been experimental, but few theoretical predictive studies exist, especially for Lamb wave ultrasonic. Compared with nonlinear bulk waves and Rayleigh waves, nonlinear Lamb waves for structural health monitoring become more challenging due to their multi-mode dispersive features.

Nonlinear behavior of an ultrasonic transducer
Ultrasonics, 1996A transducer model, based on nonlinear piezoelectric constitutive equations, has been developed to describe the harmonic generation that occurs on current or velocity signal analysis when the transducer is driven at high voltage. The symmetrical Langevin transducer studied close to its resonance frequency is composed of Navy III type power ceramics ...

Material microstructure and ultrasonic nonlinearity
2013 IEEE International Ultrasonics Symposium (IUS), 2013Ultrasonic nonlinearity measurements have been suggested as an effective tool for the early detection of fatigue damage in metallic structures. However, the correlation between ultrasonic nonlinearity and material damage induced by fatigue or plastic deformation has been observed to be non-monotonic by several researchers including by our group.
