Nonlinear Waves

1983
The outcome of a conference held in East Carolina University in June 1982, this book provides an account of developments in the theory and application of nonlinear waves in both fluids and plasmas. Twenty-two contributors from eight countries here cover all the main fields of research, including nonlinear water waves, K-dV equations, solitions and ...

Nonlinear Wave-Wave Interactions

Journal of Coastal Research, 2008
Abstract A selected record of the measured wind wave data, which contained the maximum wave height during a mistral event, was divided into five segments, and computations of wavelet bicoherence were conducted for the whole record and for all divided segments in order to analyze the details of nonlinear wave-wave interactions.

Applications of nonlinear waves; lump wave, rogue wave, periodic wave, breather wave for a nonlinear model

International Journal of Geometric Methods in Modern Physics
In this work, we study the Chafee–Infante differential equation (CIDE) for various types of nonlinear waves (NW) like breather waves (BW), periodic cross-kink (PCKW), lump waves (LW), rogue waves (RW), periodic wave (PW), lump soliton (LS) with one kink, LS with two kink and periodic-cross lump waves (PCLW). The CIDE is a nonlinear evolution equation (
