Wave propagation in nonlocal orthotropic micropolar elastic solids

open access: yesArchives of Mechanics, 2021
The presented paper is concerned with the propagation of Rayleigh waves in an orthotropic nonlocal micropolar elastic half-space. The main aim of the paper is to derive dispersion equations of Rayleigh wave as well as Stroh formalism for the orthotropic ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Asymptotic behavior of solutions of a Fisher equation with free boundaries and nonlocal term

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2019
We study the asymptotic behavior of solutions of a Fisher equation with free boundaries and the nonlocal term (an integral convolution in space). This problem can model the spreading of a biological or chemical species, where free boundaries represent ...

Converting Contextuality into Nonlocality [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2021
We introduce a general method which converts, in a unified way, any form of quantum contextuality, including any form of state-dependent contextuality, into a quantum violation of a bipartite Bell inequality. As an example, we apply the method to a quantum violation of the Klyachko-Can-Binicioğlu-Shumovsky inequality.

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

Three dimensional vibration and bending analysis of carbon nanotubes embedded in elastic medium based on theory of elasticity

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
This paper studies free vibration and bending behavior of singlewalled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) embedded on elastic medium based on three-dimensional theory of elasticity. To accounting the size effect of carbon nanotubes, non-local theory is adopted to

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

Existence and stability of solutions for a nonlocal multi-point and multi-strip coupled boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional Langevin equations

open access: yesBulletin of Mathematical Sciences
In this paper, we investigate a nonlocal multi-point and multi-strip coupled boundary value problem of nonlinear fractional Langevin equations. The standard fixed point theorems (Leray–Schauder’s alternative and Banach’s fixed point theorem) are applied ...

Cluster-Based Tensorial Semisupervised Discriminant Analysis for Feature Extraction of SAR Images

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Several features have been developed to characterize the land cover in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data with speckle noise. Feature extraction has become an essential task for SAR image processing.
