Spectral characteristics of a nonlocal problem for two linear systems of partial differential equations

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2017
We study the boundary-value problem for a linear system of differential equations written in the form of differential-operator equations $$ aD_t u(t)+bBu(t)=f(t) $$ with nonlocal boundary conditions at $t$.

No‐regret and low‐regret control for a weakly coupled abstract hyperbolic system

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper explores an optimal control problem of weakly coupled abstract hyperbolic systems with missing initial data. Hyperbolic systems, known for their wave‐like phenomena and complexity, become even more challenging with weak coupling between subsystems.

Existence of solutions for an n-dimensional operator equation and applications to BVPs

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
By applying the Guo-Lakshmikantham fixed point theorem on high dimensional cones, sufficient conditions are given to guarantee the existence of positive solutions of a system of equations of the form $$ x_i(t)=\sum_{k=1}^n\sum_{j=1}^n\gamma_{ij}(t ...

Modified Nonlocal Strain Gradient Elasticity for Nano-Rods and Application to Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
Nowadays, the modified nonlocal strain gradient theory provides a mathematically well-posed and technically reliable methodology to assess scale effects in inflected nano-structures.

Blow-up analysis of conformal metrics of the disk with prescribed Gaussian and geodesic curvatures

open access: yes, 2020
This paper is concerned with the compactness of metrics of the disk with prescribed Gaussian and geodesic curvatures. We consider a blowing-up sequence of metrics and give a precise description of its asymptotic behavior.

Glycerol Carbonate from Dimethyl Carbonate and Glycerol Over TBD‐Functionalized SBA‐16

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
The transesterification reaction of glycerol with dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is an attractive path for glycerol carbonate production. A heterogeneous solid base catalyst was developed, combining strong basicity with high surface area and structural stability. Glycerol conversion reached 97% with a high glycerol carbonate yield.

Ghost effect from Boltzmann theory

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract Taking place naturally in a gas subject to a given wall temperature distribution, the “ghost effect” exhibits a rare kinetic effect beyond the prediction of classical fluid theory and Fourier law in such a classical problem in physics. As the Knudsen number ε$\varepsilon$ goes to zero, the finite variation of temperature in the bulk is ...

Minimal Nonnegative Solution of Nonlinear Impulsive Differential Equations on Infinite Interval

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2011
The cone theory and monotone iterative technique are used to investigate the minimal nonnegative solution of nonlocal boundary value problems for second-order nonlinear impulsive differential equations on an infinite interval with an infinite number of ...

Customized Scattering‐Robust 3D Speckle Correlation for Improved Resolution and Imaging Depth in Scattering Tissue

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A scattering‐robust 3D speckle customization method is proposed to enhance both resolution and imaging depth in scattering tissue. Applied to light‐field microscopy (LFM), it improves 3D resolution by over twofold under strong optical scattering. In wide‐field fluorescence imaging, it enables a substantial improvement in imaging depth, allowing imaging

Nonlocal active sound control for composite regions

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
In the active sound control problem, additional sound sources, known as control sources, are implemented at the perimeter of a protected domain. The control sources can generate secondary sound inside the shielded domain, which attenuates incoming noise. This leads to an inverse source problem.
