Discontinuous Parabolic Problems with a Nonlocal Initial Condition [PDF]

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2011
We study parabolic differential equations with a discontinuous nonlinearity and subjected to a nonlocal initial condition. We are concerned with the existence of solutions in the weak sense. Our technique is based on the Green's function, integral representation of solutions, the method of upper and lower solutions, and fixed point theorems for ...

Multiplicity of Solutions for Nonlocal Elliptic System of (p,q)-Kirchhoff Type

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2011
This paper is concerned with the following nonlocal elliptic system of (p,q)-Kirchhoff type −[M1(∫Ω|∇u|p)]p−1Δpu=λFu(x,u,v), in Ω, −[M2(∫Ω|∇v|q)]q−1Δqv=λFv(x,u,v), in Ω, u=v=0, on ∂Ω.

A quasinonlocal coupling method for nonlocal and local diffusion models

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, we extend the idea of "geometric reconstruction" to couple a nonlocal diffusion model directly with the classical local diffusion in one dimensional space.

FDM for Elliptic Equations with Bitsadze-Samarskii-Dirichlet Conditions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
A numerical method is proposed for solving nonlocal boundary value problem for the multidimensional elliptic partial differential equation with the Bitsadze-Samarskii-Dirichlet condition.

A Nonlocal Problem with Integral Conditions for a Hyperbolic Equation

open access: yesDifferential Equations, 2004
One considers a Cauchy problem for the two dimensional hyperbolic equation where the solution has to verify a nonlocal integral condition, too. The stated problem cannot be reduced to a boundary value problem. Under certain conditions one proves a priori estimates and the existence and uniqueness of solutions in a Sobolev space.

On a class of parabolic equations with nonlocal boundary conditions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2004
The author considers the problem \[ \begin{aligned} &u_t = \nabla\cdot(d(x,t)\nabla u + \mathbf{W}(x,t)u), \quad (x,t)\in Q_T = \Omega\times(0,T],\\ &du_\nu + (\mathbf{W}\cdot\nu)u = \int_\Omega g(x,t,u)\,dx, \quad (x,t)\in S_T,\qquad u(x,0) = u_0(x), \quad x\in\Omega, \end{aligned} \] which is a generalized model for a theory of ion-diffusion in ...

Solvability of the -Laplacian with nonlocal boundary conditions

open access: yesApplied Mathematics and Computation, 2009
Rather mild sufficient conditions are provided for the existence of positive solutions of a boundary value problem of the form[@F(x^'(t))]^'+c(t)(Fx)(t)=0,[email protected]?(0,1),x(0)-L"0(x)=x(1)-L"1(x)=0,which unify several cases discussed in the literature. In order to formulate these conditions one needs to know only properties of the homeomorphism @
