Equilibrium conditions for nonlocal problems

Proceedings of the 39th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.00CH37187), 2002
The paper is concerned with obtaining generalized optimality conditions for a kind of nonlocal variational problems.

A nonlocal problem with integral conditions

Mathematical Notes, 1996
For the equation \(u_{xy} +A(x,y)u_x +B(x,y)u_y +C(x,y)u =f(x,y)\) in the domain \(D=\{(x,y ...

Electrical Conductivity Reconstruction Using Nonlocal Boundary Conditions

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1999
Summary: We study existence, uniqueness, and solution estimates to the mixed problem \(\nabla\cdot\sigma\nabla u=0\) with Dirichlet to Neumann map boundary conditions and Neumann boundary conditions. We then show how this can be used in the reconstruction of \(\sigma\), given the relationship between u and its normal derivative on the boundary portion ...

Exact controllability for nonlocal wave equations with nonlocal boundary conditions

Annales Polonici Mathematici
Summary: We are interested in the controllability of nonlocal wave equations subject to nonlocal dynamical boundary conditions, where the nonlocality stems from integral terms on the bulk and on the boundary of the domain considered. First, we establish, in two geometric settings satisfying the geometric control condition (GCC), the internal ...

Nonlocal conditions for fractional differential equations

Studia Universitatis Babes-Bolyai Matematica
In this work we use the method of lower and upper solutions to develop an iterative technique, which is not necessarily monotone, and combined with a fixed point theorem to prove the existence of at least one solution of nonlinear fractional differential equations with nonlocal boundary conditions of integral type.

Abstract reaction–diffusion systems with nonlocal initial conditions

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2014
The authors study the abstract nonlinear first-order delay reaction-diffusion system with nonlocal initial conditions \[ \begin{aligned} & u'(t) \in Au(t)+f(t,u_{t},v_{t}), \;t\in [ 0,\infty),\\ & v'(t) \in Bv(t)+g(t,u_{t},v_{t}), \;t\in [ 0,\infty),\\ & u(t)=p(u,v)(t), \;t\in [ -\tau ,0],\\ & v(t)=q(u,v)(t), \;t\in [ -\tau ,0],\end{aligned}\tag{1 ...

Differential operators with nonlocal boundary conditions

Differential Equations, 2000
Inverse problems of spectral analysis are studied for boundary value problems generated by the Sturm-Liouville differential operator \[ \ell y:=y''+q(x)y, \quad ...

Single-Particle Nonlocality and Conditional Measurements

Foundations of Physics, 1998
I suggest that quantum mechanical nonlocality may in a certain sense allow a particle to be in two places at the same time, without violating causality. I discuss the measurable consequences of such a feat, and speculate about possible statistical tests which could distinguish this view of quantum mechanics from a “corpuscular” one.
