Hierarchically Porous Heteroatom‐co‐Doped Carbons for Enhanced Carbon Dioxide Capture

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Polythiophene‐derived N,S‐co‐doped carbons with tailored surface functionalities exhibit enhanced CO₂ adsorption. The efficiency of carbon dioxide (CO2) adsorption in carbonaceous materials is primarily influenced by their microporosity and thermodynamic affinity for CO2.

Electronic and Photophysical Properties of a Heterometallic Ru(II)–Cu(I) Kuratowski Complex: Insights from Spectroscopy and Density Functional Theory Calculations

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
[RuIICu4I(Me2bta)6(PPh3)4] features μ3‐bridging 1,2,3‐triazolate ligands linking Ru(II) to electron‐rich Cu(I) centers. Electrochemical and time‐dependent density functional theory data suggest a weak Ru–Cu interaction. The short‐lived excited state is tentatively attributed to fast charge recombination and internal conversion involving transient Ru ...

Flexoelectric Effects of Nanoscale Electrical Materials Under Dynamic Conditions

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Material flexoelectricity is due to strain gradients at the material's small dimensions, and nanoelectronics more precisely enhances the heightened sensitivity at this reduced scale. Below, the study presents a sensitivity analysis in active applications, such as sensors and actuators, to these effects, focusing on how flexoelectricity ...

Probing polarization response of monolayer cell cultures with entangled photon pairs

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, EarlyView.
Innovative optical detection using polarization and quantum techniques is presented for biological sample analysis. This method utilizes non‐classical light, specifically entangled photon pairs, for enhanced sensitivity in low‐photon‐flux environments.

Uncovering Hidden Resonances in Non‐Hermitian Systems with Scattering Thresholds

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
The points where diffraction orders emerge or vanish in the propagating spectrum of periodic non‐Hermitian systems are referred to as scattering thresholds. Close to these branch points, resonances from different Riemann sheets can tremendously impact the optical response.

Some nonlinear problems for the superposition of fractional operators with Neumann boundary conditions

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract We discuss the existence theory of a nonlinear problem of nonlocal type subject to Neumann boundary conditions. Differently from the existing literature, the elliptic operator under consideration is obtained as a superposition of operators of mixed order. The setting that we introduce is very general and comprises, for instance, the sum of two

Nonlocal active sound control for composite regions

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
In the active sound control problem, additional sound sources, known as control sources, are implemented at the perimeter of a protected domain. The control sources can generate secondary sound inside the shielded domain, which attenuates incoming noise. This leads to an inverse source problem.
