Highly Selective Aldol Condensation of Furfural and Acetone Over Defective‐Engineered MIL‐88B Metal–Organic Frameworks

open access: yesApplied Organometallic Chemistry, Volume 39, Issue 8, August 2025.
Here, we introduce a novel strategy employing Fe‐MIL‐88B and Fe‐MIL‐88B‐NH₂ metal–organic frameworks to enhance catalytic efficiency in FUR aldol condensation with acetone to produce sustainable aviation fuels intermediates. ABSTRACT Furfural (FUR), a valuable platform molecule derived from lignocellulosic biomass, is a promising feedstock for ...

Enhanced Detection of Age‐Related and Cognitive Declines Using Automated Hippocampal‐To‐Ventricle Ratio in Alzheimer's Patients

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 11, 01 August 2025.
This study demonstrates the superior accuracy of a Deep Learning‐based algorithm in segmenting the hippocampus and surrounding cerebro‐spinal fluid filled spaces to calculate the hippocampal‐to‐ventricle ratio, reinforcing its significance in distinguishing between controls and Alzheimer's patients and its associations with age and cognitive impairment.

The One‐Dimensional Coulomb Hamiltonian: Properties of Its Birman–Schwinger Operator

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 11813-11822, August 2025.
ABSTRACT The objective of the present paper is to study in detail the properties of the Birman–Schwinger operator for a self‐adjoint realization of the one‐dimensional Hamiltonian with the Coulomb potential, both when the Hamiltonian is defined only on ℝ+$$ {\mathbb{R}}_{+} $$ and when it is defined on the whole real line.

Nonlocal Cooperative Behavior, Psychological Effects, and Collective Decision‐Making: An Exemplification With Predator–Prey Models

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 12011-12037, August 2025.
ABSTRACT In bio‐social models, cooperative behavior has evolved as an adaptive strategy, playing multi‐functional roles. One of such roles in populations is to increase the success of the survival and reproduction of individuals and their families or social groups.

Existence of Normalized Solutions of a Hartree–Fock System With Mass Subcritical Growth

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 12, Page 12309-12319, August 2025.
ABSTRACT In this paper, we are concerned with normalized solutions of a class of Hartree‐Fock type systems. By seeking the constrained global minimizers of the corresponding functional, we prove that the existence and nonexistence of normalized solutions.
