Families of Rational and Semirational Solutions of the Partial Reverse Space-Time Nonlocal Mel′nikov Equation

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Exact periodic and localized solutions of a nonlocal Mel′nikov equation are derived by the Hirota bilinear method. Many conventional nonlocal operators involve integration over a spatial or temporal domain.

Thermoelectric Processes of Quantum Normal‐Superconductor Interfaces

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, EarlyView.
Recent advances on using mesoscopic normal‐superconductor junctions for the thermoelectric effect is reviewed. A theoretical framework is presented for multiterminal configurations exploiting properties characterised by the interplay of the system reduced dimensionality and superconducting correlations.

No‐regret and low‐regret control for a weakly coupled abstract hyperbolic system

open access: yesAsian Journal of Control, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper explores an optimal control problem of weakly coupled abstract hyperbolic systems with missing initial data. Hyperbolic systems, known for their wave‐like phenomena and complexity, become even more challenging with weak coupling between subsystems.

Monotonic Positive Solutions of Nonlocal Boundary Value Problems for a Second-Order Functional Differential Equation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We study the existence of at least one monotonic positive solution for the nonlocal boundary value problem of the second-order functional differential equation x′′(t)=f(t,x(ϕ(t))), t∈(0,1), with the nonlocal condition ∑k=1makx(τk)=x0, x′(0)+∑j=1nbjx′(ηj)=

Assessing the Performance of Exchange‐Correlation Density Functionals in Describing the Iron‐Catalyzed Ammonia Synthesis System

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Using density functional theory calculations, and by comparing calculated gas‐phase formation energies, bulk cohesive energies, lattice constants, and nitrogen and ammonia adsorption energies on Fe and Fe‐nitride surfaces to experimental estimates, the accuracy of several XC functionals is assessed for modeling iron‐catalyzed ammonia synthesis. Density

Symmetry and Intertwining Operators for the Nonlocal Gross-Pitaevskii Equation

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2013
We consider the symmetry properties of an integro-differential multidimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation with a nonlocal nonlinear (cubic) term in the context of symmetry analysis using the formalism of semiclassical asymptotics.

London Dispersion versus Intramolecular Hydrogen Bond in Bis‐Pyridines: How Accurate Is DFT for Competing Noncovalent Interactions in the Condensed Phase?

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
A test system of 14 singly protonated bis‑pyridine salts, with varying H‑bonded and London dispersion interactions, was designed to systematically study non‑covalent interactions across the gas, solution, and solid phases. A good correlation between the 1H chemical shift and the N‐H–N angle from the crystal structures was established.
