Many‐body dispersion (MBD) forces are stronger, longer‐ranged, and more accurate than pairwise van der Waals (vdW) models. By comparing polyethylene melts, benzene solutions, and fullerenes, it is shown that a slower‐decay corrected pairwise scheme can recover MBD magnitudes.

Advanced image analysis uses 3D‐reconstructed filler particle networks in silver polydimethylsiloxane conductive polymer composites to decouple network structure and particle–particle contact resistance above the percolation threshold. The silver loading‐dependent changes in network structure are not large enough to explain the change in macroscopic ...

SFNIC: Hybrid Spatial‐Frequency Information for Lightweight Neural Image Compression
ABSTRACT Neural image compression (NIC) has shown remarkable rate‐distortion (R‐D) efficiency. However, the considerable computational and spatial complexity of most NIC methods presents deployment challenges on resource‐constrained devices. We introduce a lightweight neural image compression framework designed to efficiently process both local and ...

Local newspaper closures and bank loan contracts
Abstract We examine changes in bank loan contracts after borrowers experience a nearby local newspaper closure. Compared to a sample of control firms, we find that the closure of a local newspaper leads to higher interest spreads for borrowers. This effect is more pronounced when there are fewer related lenders in the syndicate, when lenders have less ...

Predicting animal movement with deepSSF: A deep learning step selection framework
Abstract Predictions of animal movement are vital for understanding and managing wild populations. However, the fine‐scale, complex decision‐making of animals can pose challenges for the accurate prediction of trajectories. Integrated step selection functions (iSSFs), a common tool for inferring relationships between animal movement and the environment,
