Hyperbolic Stefan problem with nonlocal boundary conditions

open access: yesМатематичні Студії
In this paper, we consider problems with unknown boundaries for hyperbolic equations and systems with free boundaries with two independent variables. The boundary conditions for such equations in the linear or quasilinear cases are given in nonlocal (non-

On the initial-boundary value problem for a nonlocal parabolic equation with nonlocal boundary condition

open access: yesЖурнал Белорусского государственного университета: Математика, информатика, 2018
We consider a nonlinear nonlocal parabolic equation ut = Δu + a(x,t)ur∫Ωup(y,t)dy - b(x,t)uq for (x,t) ∈ Ω × (0,+∞) with nonlinear nonlocal boundary condition u(x,t)|∂Ω × (0,+∞) = ∫Ωk(x,y,t)ul(y,t)dy and initial data u(x,0) = u0(x), x ∈ Ω, where r, p, q, l are positive constants; Ω is a bounded domain in Rn with smooth boundary ∂Ω.

Humidity‐Guided In Situ Polymerization for Controlled Formation of Smooth, Oriented Covalent Organic Framework Films

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We develop an operationally simple, efficient approach to prepare thin films of 2D imine COFs, where environmental humidity plays a key role in the formation of smooth, face‐on oriented films. The high controllability and reproducibility of this method allow statistical evaluation of morphologically varied COF films for chemiresistive sensing ...

Nonlocal Conditions for Lower Semicontinuous Parabolic Inclusions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We discuss conditions for the existence of at least one solution of a discontinuous parabolic equation with lower semicontinuous right hand side and a nonlocal initial condition of integral type.

“Your English Sounds Almost British”: Everyday Linguicism and Racialized Subjectivity of an International Student in Hong Kong

open access: yesTESOL Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract This article examines how everyday linguicism and racism shape the academic and social experiences of international students in Hong Kong, focusing on the racialized subjectivity of a South Asian graduate student. Although research on international students has mainly focused on Western higher education, little attention has been paid to the ...

On a Local and Nonlocal Second-Order Boundary Value Problem with In-Homogeneous Cauchy–Neumann Boundary Conditions—Applications in Engineering and Industry

open access: yesMathematics
A qualitative study for a second-order boundary value problem with local or nonlocal diffusion and a cubic nonlinear reaction term, endowed with in-homogeneous Cauchy–Neumann (Robin) boundary conditions, is addressed in the present paper.

“Migratory Bird” Local Managers: English Proficiency, Social Identification, and Early Turnover

open access: yesThunderbird International Business Review, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Local managers with high proficiency in English are valuable resources for foreign subsidiaries of multinational enterprises, as they help mitigate language barriers between expatriate and local managers. However, such linguistically competent local managers often leave foreign subsidiaries within the first few years of employment.

A Detailed and Comprehensive Account of Fractional Physics‐Informed Neural Networks: From Implementation to Efficiency

open access: yesArtificial Intelligence for Engineering, EarlyView.
Caputo‐based fPINNs accurately solve fractional ODEs and PDEs while exposing an accuracy–cost trade‐off driven by the history‐dependent fractional derivative. Temporal collocation and shorter time windows are the most effective strategies for improving early‐time accuracy without unnecessary spatial refinement.

Pseudo-Almost Automorphic 𝓒0-Solutions: Well-Posedness and Asymptotic Behaviour in Evolution Equations with Nonlocal Constraints

open access: yesMathematics
This research establishes an innovative analytical framework for examining C0-solutions of pseudo-almost automorphic type in evolution systems governed by nonlocal initial conditions within Banach spaces.
