A Geometric Interpretation for the Algebraic Properties of Second‐Order Ordinary Differential Equations

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, Volume 48, Issue 6, Page 6912-6917, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Nowadays, a substantial portion of investigations concerning the symmetry analysis of differential equations predominantly adhere to a framework comprising the following key procedures: (i) the derivation of symmetries, (ii) the determination of an optimal system, (iii) the utilization of these symmetries to construct invariants or ...

First order systems of odes with nonlinear nonlocal boundary conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2015
In this article, we prove existence of solutions for a nonlocal boundary value problem with nonlinearity in a nonlocal condition. Our method is based upon Mawhin's coincidence theory.

On the Mean‐Field Limit of Consensus‐Based Methods

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Consensus‐based optimization (CBO) employs a swarm of particles evolving as a system of stochastic differential equations (SDEs). Recently, it has been adapted to yield a derivative free sampling method referred to as consensus‐based sampling (CBS). In this paper, we investigate the “mean‐field limit” of a class of consensus methods, including

Free Surface Waves in Electrohydrodynamics With a Prescribed Vorticity Distribution

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditionally, the study of free surface flows assumed irrotationality to simplify matters, and the results seemed to have great success, notably with the Korteweg‐de Vries(KdV) equation. In the past decade, there have been attempts to remove this seemingly strong condition and replace it with a global constant vorticity equivalent to a linear

Monotonicity-based inversion of the fractional Schr\"odinger equation I. Positive potentials

open access: yes, 2019
We consider the inverse problems of for the fractional Schr\"odinger equation by using monotonicity formulas. We provide if-and-only-if monotonicity relations between positive bounded potentials and their associated nonlocal Dirichlet-to-Neumann maps ...

Motion‐ and Field‐Robust Mesoscopic Whole‐Brain T2*$$ {T}_2^{\ast } $$‐Weighted Imaging at 7 and 11.7 T Using Servo Navigation

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To mitigate artifacts related to motion and field changes in high‐resolution T2*$$ {T}_2^{\ast } $$‐weighted human brain imaging using servo navigation at ultra‐high fields up to 11.7 T. Methods MR‐based servo navigators were integrated into a segmented 3D‐EPI sequence to allow for prospective correction of involuntary head motion and ...

A problem with nonlocal integral 1st kind conditions for 4th order partial differential equation

open access: yesВестник Самарского университета: Естественнонаучная серия
In this article, we consider a nonlocal problem with integral conditions for one-dimensional 4th order partial differential equation. A distinguishing feature of this problem is the presence of integral conditions of the 1st kind.

Experimental Modal Analysis‐Driven Gaussian Process Regression Modeling of Rectangular Steel Beams With Various Hole Geometries

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding the dynamic behavior of structural components is crucial for optimizing performance and ensuring structural integrity. This study presents a new method that combines a systematic experimental investigation of four distinct hole geometries (circular, square, compact rectangular, and long rectangular) with varying hole counts, all ...

Investigation of the spectrum for Sturm–Liouville problems with a nonlocal boundary condition

open access: yesLietuvos Matematikos Rinkinys, 2013
In this paper, we analyze the Sturm–Liouville problem with one classical first type boundary condition and the other Samarskii–Bitsadze type nonlocal boundary condition.

Nonlocal Electrical Detection of Spin‐Polarized Surface Currents in the 3D Topological Insulator BiSbTeSe2

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), EarlyView.
Nonlocal (NL) electrical measurements in the topological insulator BiSbTeSe2 reveal spin‐polarized surface currents, which vanish around 20 K due to increased interactions between bulk and surface states. An enhanced spin‐to‐background ratio in the NL geometry compared to the local geometry provides new insights into spin transport and current pathways
