Nonlocal strain gradient forced vibrations of FG-GPLRC nanocomposite microbeams

Engineering with Computers, 2019
In the current investigation, based upon the nonlocal strain gradient theory of elasticity, an inhomogeneous size-dependent beam model is formulated within the framework of a refined hyperbolic shear deformation beam theory. Thereafter, via the constructed nonlocal strain gradient refined beam model, the nonlinear primary resonance of laminated ...

Stress-driven nonlocal and strain gradient formulations of Timoshenko nanobeams

The European Physical Journal Plus, 2018
In this paper, three size-dependent formulations are developed for the analysis of Timoshenko nanobeams with various end conditions based on the nonlocal and strain gradient theories. The nonlocal governing equations are presented based on the stress-driven model of Eringen’s theory. First, a strain gradient Timoshenko beam model is developed.

Contribution of nonlocal integral elasticity to modified strain gradient theory

The European Physical Journal Plus, 2021
The nonlocal integral elasticity and the modified strain gradient theory are consistently integrated in the framework of the nonlocal modified gradient theory of elasticity. The equivalent differential formulation of the constitutive law, equipped with appropriate nonstandard boundary conditions, is introduced.

Novel nonlocal continuum formulations. Part 1: gradient elasticity based on nonlocal displacements and nonlocal strains

2008
Nonlocal continuum formulations exist in integral formats and differential formats. The latter, also known as gradient-enriched continua, have successfully been applied in elasticity, plasticity and damage and provide a robust framework to analyse size effects and dispersive waves. Moreover, gradient enhancement can be used to remove singularities from

On the Use of Nonlocal Strain Gradient Theory for Flexomagnetic Nanobeams

Volume 3: Advances in Thermal Technologies; Advances in Semiconductor Manufacturing; Clean Energy Technologies & Systems; Cyber Physical Systems + AI / ML
Abstract Direct flexomagnetism transduces mechanical loads into magnetic effects in nanostructures. Structural models that account for flexomagnetic effect require accurate flexomagnetic coefficient for designing nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS).

Asymptotic behavior in nonlocal Mindlin's strain gradient thermoelasticity with voids and microtemperatures

Journal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2022
In this article, a system of equations is proposed which, according to the author, corresponds to the ``local theory for thermoelastic materials with voids and microtemperatures based on the strain gradient theory due to Mindlin''. Afterwards, the author focuses his interest on the one-dimensional problem and presents results of existence and ...

Local and nonlocal strain gradient approaches for size-dependent plastic deformation

Materials Research Proceedings, 2023
Abstract. Micro scale manufacturing technologies have been a productive area of research due to the increase in miniaturization in various industries. However, most of the know-how in conventional metal forming processes cannot be readily transferred into micro/meso forming processes due to the size effect.
