Influence of Nonlocality on Transmittance and Reflectance of Hyperbolic Metamaterials

open access: yesCrystals, 2020
In this paper we investigate transmittance and reflectance spectra of multilayer hyperbolic metamaterials in the presence of strong spatial dispersion.

Accelerating Luminescence in Nanostructures: Exploring the Physical Limits and Impact of Ultrafast Emission in Nanoscale Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in accelerating luminescence in nanostructures through cooperative emission, resonator coupling, and nonlocal light–matter interactions. By unifying concepts such as excitonic superradiance, superfluorescence, and the plasmonic Purcell effect, it reveals physical limits of ultrafast emission and their potential ...

Enhanced Trapping with an Optimized Graphene‐Based Bowtie Plasmonic Nanotweezer: Design, Analysis, and Bioanalytical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
A graphene‐based bowtie plasmonic nanotweezer is designed and optimized using particle swarm optimization and transfer matrix analysis. The structure achieves strong field confinement, delivering trapping forces up to 6 nN W−1 for 10 nm bioparticles with sixfold lower power requirements than conventional designs.

Nonlocal correlation in quantum network near a Schwarzschild black hole

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We transfer the scenario of quantum network nonlocal correlation to the vicinity of a black hole’s event horizon, aiming to evaluate the impact of Hawking effect on network nonlocality within this specific context.

Joint Measurability, Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Steering, and Bell Nonlocality

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the relation between the incompatibility of quantum measurements and quantum nonlocality. We show that any set of measurements that is not jointly measurable (i.e. incompatible) can be used for demonstrating EPR steering, a form of quantum

Peptide Sequence Programmed Piezoelectric Response by Supramolecular Self‐Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, hydrophobic tripeptides are explored as building blocks for stable piezoelectric crystals. Tripeptides with phenylalanine at the central position self‐assembled into uniform, thermally stable crystals. Piezoresponse force microscopy reveals a high effective piezoelectric coefficient of 24.0 pC N−1, attributed to asymmetric molecular ...

On the Non-Local Surface Plasmons’ Contribution to the Casimir Force between Graphene Sheets

open access: yesPhysics, 2020
Herein we demonstrate the dramatic effect of non-locality on the plasmons which contribute to the Casimir forces, with a graphene sandwich as a case study.

Translationally invariant multipartite Bell inequalities involving only two-body correlators

open access: yes, 2014
Bell inequalities are natural tools that allow one to certify the presence of nonlocality in quantum systems. The known constructions of multipartite Bell inequalities contain, however, correlation functions involving all observers, making their ...

Ligand‐Induced Electronic Response Enables Predictive QM/MM Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Quantum mechanics/molecular mechanics (QM/MM) simulations are powerful tools for modeling complex molecular systems; however, their predictability has been constrained by the ambiguous definition of the QM region. An electronically informed protocol is introduced that defines QM regions by quantifying guest‐induced orbital shifts and charge ...

Hierarchical relationship of nonlocal correlations in Schwarzschild-de Sitter spacetime

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We investigate the hierarchy of nonlocal correlations for Dirac fields in the Schwarzschild de Sitter (SdS) spacetime. We find that the hierarchical relationship between the nonlocal advantage of quantum coherence (NAQC) and Bell nonlocality remains in ...
