Vibrational Analysis of Steelmaking Ladles: Findings from Industrial and Laboratory Studies for Model Development and Stirring Optimization

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Vibration signals are generated by argon gas injection in molten metal and are measured in both industrial and laboratory ladles. Distinct frequency bands are identified, corresponding to bubble formation and rupture. The results demonstrate that vibration analysis can provide valuable insights into bubble dynamics and support optimization of gas ...

Increasing the Reuse Potential of High‐Strength Steels by Extending the Fatigue Life through Surface Treatments

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
Surface reconditioning through mechanical and electrochemical polishing is shown to extend the fatigue life of predamaged 42CrMo4 steel by over 12 times. By removing ≈100 μm of surface material, surface‐driven fatigue damage is mitigated. This study introduces a reuse potential metric to evaluate fatigue recovery and support sustainable steel reuse. Experimental Investigations on the Impact of Operational Conditions on Bubble Dynamics and the Resulting Vibrations in Gas‐Stirred Ladles

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study applies sensitive vibration sensors to investigate gas bubble behavior in liquid metal during argon injection. Analysis of vibration signals provides insights into bubble evolution and the influence of gas flow and surface pressure. The results provide a basis for improved vibration‐based two‐phase flow models, enhancing accuracy in ...
