Moduli of finite flat torsors over nodal curves

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 112, Issue 1, July 2025.
Abstract We show that log flat torsors over a family X/S$X/S$ of nodal curves under a finite flat commutative group scheme G/S$G/S$ are classified by maps from the Cartier dual of G$G$ to the log Jacobian of X$X$. We deduce that fppf torsors on the smooth fiberss of X/S$X/S$ can be extended to global log flat torsors under some regularity hypotheses.

The Iwasawa invariants of Zpd${\mathbb {Z}}_{p}^{\,d}$‐covers of links

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract Let p$p$ be a prime number and let d∈Z>0$d\in {\mathbb {Z}}_{>0}$. In this paper, following the analogy between knots and primes, we study the p$p$‐torsion growth in a compatible system of (Z/pnZ)d$({\mathbb {Z}}/p^n{\mathbb {Z}})^d$‐covers of 3‐manifolds and establish several analogues of Cuoco–Monsky's multivariable versions of Iwasawa's ...

The Picard group in equivariant homotopy theory via stable module categories

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 18, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract We develop a mechanism of “isotropy separation for compact objects” that explicitly describes an invertible G$G$‐spectrum through its collection of geometric fixed points and gluing data located in certain variants of the stable module category.

Feigin–Odesskii brackets associated with Kodaira cycles and positroid varieties

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 130, Issue 5, May 2025.
Abstract We establish a link between open positroid varieties in the Grassmannians G(k,n)$G(k,n)$ and certain moduli spaces of complexes of vector bundles over Kodaira cycle Cn$C^n$, using the shifted Poisson structure on the latter moduli spaces and relating them to the standard Poisson structure on G(k,n)$G(k,n)$.

Rigidity of quantum algebras

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 111, Issue 3, March 2025.
Abstract Given an associative C$\mathbb {C}$‐algebra A$A$, we call A$A$ strongly rigid if for any pair of finite subgroups of its automorphism groups G,H$G, H$, such that AG≅AH$A^G\cong A^H$, then G$G$ and H$H$ must be isomorphic. In this paper, we show that a large class of filtered quantizations are strongly rigid.

A classification of infinite staircases for Hirzebruch surfaces

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 18, Issue 1, March 2025.
Abstract The ellipsoid embedding function of a symplectic manifold gives the smallest amount by which the symplectic form must be scaled in order for a standard ellipsoid of the given eccentricity to embed symplectically into the manifold. It was first computed for the standard four‐ball (or equivalently, the complex projective plane) by McDuff and ...

The devil's staircase for chip‐firing on random graphs and on graphons

open access: yesRandom Structures &Algorithms, Volume 66, Issue 1, January 2025.
Abstract We study the behavior of the activity of the parallel chip‐firing upon increasing the number of chips on an Erdős–Rényi random graph. We show that in various situations the resulting activity diagrams converge to a devil's staircase as we increase the number of vertices.

Comparison of nonarchimedean and logarithmic mirror constructions via the Frobenius structure theorem

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 110, Issue 5, November 2024.
Abstract For a log Calabi Yau pair (X,D$X,D$) with X∖D$X\setminus D$ smooth affine, satisfying either a maximal degeneracy assumption or contains a Zariski dense torus, we prove under the condition that D is the support of a nef divisor that the structure constants defining a trace form on the mirror algebra constructed by Gross–Siebert are given by ...

Asymptotics of polynomials orthogonal with respect to a generalized Freud weight with application to special function solutions of Painlevé‐IV

open access: yesStudies in Applied Mathematics, Volume 153, Issue 3, October 2024.
