Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Longitudinal Assessment of Biomarkers in ALS: Discriminative Biomarkers for Disease Progression and Survival

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To assess the association and discriminative performance of serum biomarkers with clinical disease progression and survival in patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Methods This retrospective study, conducted at Houston Methodist Hospital, Houston, TX, used longitudinal serum samples collected between January 2018 and ...

A Nonparametric Estimate of a Multivariate Density Function

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1965
Let $x_1, \cdots, x_n$ be independent observations on a $p$-dimensional random variable $X = (X_1, \cdots, X_p)$ with absolutely continuous distribution function $F(x_1, \cdots, x_p)$. An observation $x_i$ on $X$ is $x_i = (x_{1i}, \cdots, x_{pi})$. The problem considered here is the estimation of the probability density function $f(x_1, \cdots, x_p ...

Nonparametric Methods for Volatility Density Estimation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Stochastic volatility modelling of financial processes has become increasingly popular. The proposed models usually contain a stationary volatility process. We will motivate and review several nonparametric methods for estimation of the density of the volatility process.

Influenza Vaccination Responses in Disabled Stroke Patients: A Single‐Center Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective This study aimed to investigate the immunological response to influenza vaccination, the incidence and severity of influenza infection, and the side effects of the vaccination in patients with ischemic stroke. Methods This prospective observational study was conducted between 2023 and 2024 at Ramathibodi Hospital.

Analysis of Option Butterfly Portfolio Models Based on Nonparametric Estimation Deep Learning Method

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2023
The option butterfly portfolio is the commonly option arbitrage strategy. In reality, because the distribution of the option state price density (SPD) function is not normal and unknown, so the nonparametric deep learning methods to estimate option ...

Natural Frequencies of Levodopa‐Induced Dyskinesia in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Abnormal involuntary movements, known as dyskinesias, are common complications of levodopa treatment in patients with Parkinson's disease and can significantly impair quality of life. The underlying pathophysiology remains unclear, and current therapeutic options are limited.

pyrichlet: A Python Package for Density Estimation and Clustering Using Gaussian Mixture Models

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Software
Bayesian nonparametric models have proven to be successful tools for clustering and density estimation. While there exists a nourished ecosystem of implementations in R, for Python there are only a few. Here we develop a Python package called pyrichlet,

Stage‐Dependent β‐Synuclein Links MRI and Cognitive Decline in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Synaptic degeneration drives cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease (AD), but synaptic biomarkers are scarce. Brain‐enriched β‐synuclein emerged as a synaptic damage marker. We investigated its diagnostic, prognostic, and structural correlates across the AD continuum.
