Profile Inferences on Restricted Additive Partially Linear EV Models

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2013
We consider the testing problem for the parameter and restricted estimator for the nonparametric component in the additive partially linear errors-in-variables (EV) models under additional restricted condition.

Nonparametric Estimation IV

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1951
In the three papers, [1], [2], [3], entitled "Nonparametric estimation", Scheffe and Tukey generalized previous results on tolerance regions and extended them to cover all continuous and discontinuous distribution functions. This note contains four comments arising from these papers: first, on a method for giving bounds to the confidence level in the ...

Adaptive Estimation of Nonparametric Functionals

open access: yesJ. Mach. Learn. Res., 2016
We provide general adaptive upper bounds for estimating nonparametric functionals based on second order U-statistics arising from finite dimensional approximation of the infinite dimensional models. We then provide examples of functionals for which the theory produces rate optimally matching adaptive upper and lower bounds.

Nonparametric Regression Model for Longitudinal Data with Mixed Truncated Spline and Fourier Series

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2020
Existing literature in nonparametric regression has established a model that only applies one estimator to all predictors. This study is aimed at developing a mixed truncated spline and Fourier series model in nonparametric regression for longitudinal ...

Nonparametric Estimation of the Expected Shortfall Regression for Quasi-Associated Functional Data

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this paper, we study the nonparametric estimation of the expected shortfall regression when the exogenous observation is functional. The constructed estimator is obtained by combining the double kernels estimator of both conditional value at risk and ...

Bias Adjustment for a Nonparametric Entropy Estimator

open access: yesEntropy, 2013
Zhang in 2012 introduced a nonparametric estimator of Shannon’s entropy, whose bias decays exponentially fast when the alphabet is finite. We propose a methodology to estimate the bias of this estimator.

A Least Squares Method for Variance Estimation in Heteroscedastic Nonparametric Regression

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
Interest in variance estimation in nonparametric regression has grown greatly in the past several decades. Among the existing methods, the least squares estimator in Tong and Wang (2005) is shown to have nice statistical properties and is also easy to ...

Prewhitening-Based Estimation in Partial Linear Regression Models

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2009
The problem of semiparametric modelling in time series is considered. For this, partial linear regression models are used, that is, regression models where the regression function is the sum of a linear and a nonparametric component.

Global Bahadur Representation For NonParametric Censored Regression Quantiles and its Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper is concerned with the nonparametric estimation of regression quantiles of a response variable that is randomly censored. Using results on the strong uniform convergence rate of U-processes, we derive a global Bahadur representation for a ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
