Ant Diversity of the Xisha Islands: Community Structure, Exotic Species Colonization, and Ecological Functions in a Tropical Coral Archipelago

open access: yesBiological Diversity, EarlyView.
The first inventory of ants from the Xisha Islands of the South China Sea was compiled, revealing 21 species: 70% native and 30% exotic. Anthropogenic disturbance primarily drove exotic colonization, whereas island area showed weak positive effects on species richness.
