Nonparametric Estimation and Symmetry Tests for Conditional Density Functions. [PDF]
We suggest two new methods for conditional density estimation. The first is based on locally fitting a log-linear model, and is in the spirit of recent work on locally parametric techniques in density estimation.

Central Limit Theorem of the Recursive Estimate of Density Function Under Randomly Censored Data
Kernel density estimation for right-censored data has been extensively studied in the non-recursive setting, whereas recursive approaches adapted to censoring remain largely unexplored despite their considerable computational advantages in sequential ...

ABSTRACT Background Epicardial adipose tissue volume (EATV) is increasingly recognized as a cardiometabolic risk marker associated with adverse outcomes. The most established approach for EATV quantification is cardiac computed tomography (CT). MRI offers a radiation‐free alternative allowing simultaneous assessment of myocardial function and tissue ...

Normal Reference Bandwidths for the General Order, Multivariate Kernel Density Derivative Estimator [PDF]
This note derives the general form of the approximate mean integrated squared error for the q-variate, th-order kernel density r th derivative estimator. This formula allows for normal reference rule-of-thumb bandwidths to be derived.

Spatial and Temporal Patterns of Extreme Hourly Rainfall in the Hawaiian Islands
The extreme rainfall trends in Hawaiʻi were revealed by hourly rainfall data: Across islands, Kauaʻi and Hawaiʻi Island had larger events at a return period. Annual maximum series of 15 gauges showed significant positive trends. While extreme rainfall trends show increases or decreases regionally, the trends varied with rainfall duration.

Rates of convergence for the posterior distributions of mixtures of Betas and adaptive nonparametric estimation of the density. [PDF]
In this paper, we investigate the asymptotic properties of nonparametric Bayesian mixtures of Betas for estimating a smooth density on [0, 1]. We consider a parametrization of Beta distributions in terms of mean and scale parameters and construct a ...

Raman Spectroscopy and Generative Variational Autoencoders for Metallurgical Coke Quality Prediction
An integrated soft sensor framework combining standardized Raman spectroscopy, synergy‐vector feature selection, variational autoencoder‐based data augmentation, and regression models (kNN, PLS, and SVR) predicts metallurgical coke quality (CSR and DI).

Nonparametric Econometrics: The np Package [PDF]
We describe the R np package via a series of applications that may be of interest to applied econometricians. The np package implements a variety of nonparametric and semiparametric kernel-based estimators that are popular among econometricians.

ABSTRACT Forest fires have escalated alarmingly, now consuming more than double the tree cover compared to two decades ago, signaling a growing and urgent environmental crisis. This study addresses the ever increasing global concern of forest fires, focusing on sustainable economic recovery while minimizing the ecological footprint amid mounting ...
