Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Hammerstein system with a stochastic input of arbitrary/unknown autocorrelation – nonparametric estimator of the static nonlinear subsystem

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, 2021
This study proposes the first estimator in the open literature (to the present authors' best knowledge) to nonparametrically estimate a Hammerstein system's nonlinear static subsystem when excited by an input that is temporally self‐correlated with an ...

The Conception of NPP Equipment Monitoring Based on Nonparametric Statistics and Trained Neural Network

open access: yesГлобальная ядерная безопасность, 2022
The article deals with the concept of monitoring based on nonparametric statistics. It is supposed the possible application to monitor the technological systems of nuclear power plants.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Consistency of cross validation for comparing regression procedures

open access: yes, 2008
Theoretical developments on cross validation (CV) have mainly focused on selecting one among a list of finite-dimensional models (e.g., subset or order selection in linear regression) or selecting a smoothing parameter (e.g., bandwidth for kernel ...

Adaptive goodness-of-fit tests based on signed ranks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Within the nonparametric regression model with unknown regression function $l$ and independent, symmetric errors, a new multiscale signed rank statistic is introduced and a conditional multiple test of the simple hypothesis $l=0$ against a nonparametric ...

Transcriptional profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles from prebiopsy prostate cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RNA profiling of circulating extracellular vesicles (EVs) from blood samples of men undergoing prostate biopsy identifies transcripts associated with clinically significant prostate cancer. Integrative analysis with public tumor datasets links EV‐derived gene signatures to tumor stage and progression‐free survival, highlighting CASP3, XRCC2, and RIT1 ...

Statistical inference for semiparametric varying-coefficient partially linear models with error-prone linear covariates

open access: yes, 2009
We study semiparametric varying-coefficient partially linear models when some linear covariates are not observed, but ancillary variables are available.

KLK7 overexpression promotes an aggressive phenotype and facilitates peritoneal dissemination in colorectal cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...
