Nonperturbative effects and nonperturbative definitions in matrix models and topological strings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2008
We develop techniques to compute multi-instanton corrections to the 1/N expansion in matrix models described by orthogonal polynomials. These techniques are based on finding trans-series solutions, i.e.

Enhanced nonperturbative effects inZdecays to hadrons [PDF]

open access: green, 2004
We use soft collinear effective field theory (SCET) to study nonperturbative strong interaction effects in Z decays to hadronic final states that are enhanced in corners of phase space. These occur, for example, in the jet energy distribution for two jet

ON THE NATURE OF NONPERTURBATIVE EFFECTS IN STABILIZED 2-D QUANTUM GRAVITY [PDF]

open access: greenModern Physics Letters A, 1994
We remark that the weak coupling regime of the stochastic stabilization of 2-D quantum gravity has a unique perturbative vacuum. By means of Monte-Carlo simulations we show that the nonperturbative vacuum has no bounded eigenvalues around the local minimum of the stabilized potential. Nonperturbative effects can be assessed in the loop equation.

Nonperturbative effects in deformation quantization

open access: green, 2000
The Cattaneo-Felder path integral form of the perturbative Kontsevich deformation quantization formula is used to explicitly demonstrate the existence of nonperturbative corrections to na\" ve deformation quantization.

Nonperturbative effects on the ferromagnetic transition in repulsive Fermi gases [PDF]

open access: green, 2012
It is generally believed that a dilute spin-1/2 Fermi gas with repulsive interactions can undergo a ferromagnetic phase transition to a spin-polarized state at a critical gas parameter $(k_{\rm F}a)_c$.

Nonperturbative effects in gluon radiation and photoproduction of quark pairs [PDF]

open access: green, 2000
We introduce a nonperturbative interaction for light-cone fluctuations containing quarks and gluons. The $\bar qq$ interaction squeezes the transverse size of these fluctuations in the photon and one does not need to simulate this effect via effective ...
