Unitary quantization of a scalar charged field and Schwinger effect
Quantum field theory in curved spacetimes suffers in general from an infinite ambiguity in the choice of Fock representation and associated vacuum. In cosmological backgrounds, the requirement of a unitary implementation of the field dynamics in the ...

The axion quality problem: global symmetry breaking and wormholes
Continuous global symmetries are expected to be broken by gravity, which can lead to important phenomenological consequences. A prime example is the threat that this poses to the viability of the Peccei-Quinn solution to the strong CP problem.

Effects of nonperturbative improvement in quenched hadron spectroscopy [PDF]
We discuss a comparative analysis of unimproved and nonperturbatively improved quenched hadron spectroscopy, on a set of 104 gauge configurations, at beta=6.2. We also present here our results for meson decay constants, including the constants f_D and f_Ds in the charm-quark region.

Stabilizing moduli with thermal matter and nonperturbative effects [PDF]
Even with recent progress, it is still very much an open question to understand how all compactification moduli are stabilized, since there are several mechanisms. For example, it is possible to generate a scalar potential either classically or through nonperturbative effects, such as gaugino condensation.

Scattering amplitudes from dispersive iterations of unitarity
We present and numerically implement a computational method to construct relativistic scattering amplitudes that obey analyticity, crossing, elastic and inelastic unitarity in three and four spacetime dimensions.

Topology in full QCD at high temperature: a multicanonical approach
We investigate the topological properties of N f = 2 + 1 QCD with physical quark masses, at temperatures around 500 MeV. With the aim of obtaining a reliable sampling of topological modes in a regime where the fluctuations of the topological charge Q are

The Exact WKB analysis and the Stokes phenomena of the Unruh effect and Hawking radiation
The physical observables of quantum theory can be described by perturbation theory, which is often given by diverging power series. This divergence is connected to the existence of non-perturbative phenomena, where resurgence allows us to study this ...

We calculate, for the first time, the NNLO QCD corrections to identified heavy hadron production at hadron colliders. The calculation is based on a flexible numeric framework which allows the calculation of any distribution of a single identified heavy ...
