Nonsequential Double Ionization of Helium [PDF]
Electron correlation effects in strong laser fields are investigated by using a simplified two electron model to calculate the double ionization rate in helium. In our model we make a correction to the single active electron approximation by including the effect of the outer electron on the inner one through a time-dependent potential.

Observation of nonsequential double ionization of helium with optical tunneling [PDF]
We have measured the ion yields for helium ionized by 120 fs, 614 nm laser pulses for intensities near ${10}^{16}$ W/${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$. We have found that for these ultrashort pulses the ${\mathrm{He}}^{+2}$ data exhibit a feature which saturates in parallel with the ${\mathrm{He}}^{+}$ signal indicating that the ionization may proceed ...

Nonsequential Double Ionization at the Single-Optical-Cycle Limit [PDF]
We report differential measurements of Ar++ ion momentum distributions from nonsequential double ionization in phase-stabilized few-cycle laser pulses. The distributions depend strongly on the carrier-envelope (CE) phase. Via control over the CE phase one is able to direct the nonsequential double-ionization dynamics.

With the three-dimensional classical ensemble model, we investigate the correlated electron emission in nonsequential double ionization (NSDI) of argon atoms by few-cycle laser pulses. Our calculations well reproduce the experimentally observed cross-shaped structure in the correlated two-electron momentum spectrum [ Nature Commun. 3, 813 (2012)].

Nonsequential Double Ionization as a Completely Classical Photoelectric Effect [PDF]
We introduce a unified and simplified theory of atomic double ionization. Our results show that at high laser intensities ($I \ge 10^{14}$ watts/cm$^2$) purely classical correlation is strong enough to account for all of the main features observed in experiments to date.

The double ionization process of an Ar atom driven by a two-color counter-rotating circularly polarized (TCCP) laser pulse is theoretically investigated. Classical trajectory analysis reveals that a significant portion of Nonsequential Double Ionization (

Frustrated double ionization of argon atoms in strong laser fields [PDF]
We report coincidence measurements of frustrated double ionization of argon atoms with a reaction microscope. Experimental results show electron trap- ping process during double ionization has a clear transition from the nonsequential to the sequential ...
