Homoclinic solutions for a differential inclusion system involving the p(t)-Laplacian

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2022
The aim of this article is to study nonlinear problem driven by the p(t)p\left(t)-Laplacian with nonsmooth potential. We establish the existence of homoclinic solutions by using variational principle for locally Lipschitz functions and the properties of ...

On the logarithmic Schrodinger equation

open access: yes, 2013
In the framework of the nonsmooth critical point theory for lower semi-continuous functionals, we propose a direct variational approach to investigate the existence of infinitely many weak solutions for a class of semi-linear elliptic equations with ...

AI‐Guided Co‐Optimization of Advanced Field‐Effect Transistors: Bridging Material, Device, and Fabrication Design

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This article outlines how artificial intelligence could reshape the design of next‐generation transistors as traditional scaling reaches its limits. It discusses emerging roles of machine learning across materials selection, device modeling, and fabrication processes, and highlights hierarchical reinforcement learning as a promising framework for ...

Resonant nonlinear periodic problems with the scalar p-Laplacian and a nonsmooth potential [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We study periodic problems driven by the scalar p-Laplacian with a nonsmooth potential. Using the nonsmooth critical point theory for locally Lipsctiz functions,we prove two existence theorems under conditions of resonance at infinity with respect to ...

Nonhomogeneous Hemivariational Inequalities with Indefinite Potential and Robin Boundary Condition

open access: yes, 2017
We consider a nonlinear, nonhomogeneous Robin problem with an indefinite potential and a nonsmooth primitive in the reaction term. In fact, the right-hand side of the problem (reaction term) is the Clarke subdifferential of a locally Lipschitz integrand.

EXISTENCE OF SOLUTION FOR A FRACTIONAL DIFFERENTIAL INCLUSION VIA NONSMOOTH CRITICAL POINT THEORY

open access: yesKorean Journal of Mathematics, 2015
Summary: This paper is concerned with the existence of solutions to the following fractional differential inclusion \[\begin{cases} -\frac{d}{dx}\left(p {}_0D_x^{-\beta}(u'(x))+q {}_xD_1^{-\beta}(u'(x))\right)\in \partial F_u(x,u),\qquad x\in (0,1),\\ u(0)=u(1)=0,\end{cases}\] where \({}_0D_x^{-\beta}\) and \({}_xD_1^{-\beta}\) are left and right ...

Controlling Dynamical Systems Into Unseen Target States Using Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Parameter‐aware next‐generation reservoir computing enables efficient, data‐driven control of dynamical systems across unseen target states and nonstationary transitions. The approach suppresses transient behavior while navigating system collapse scenarios with minimal training data—over an order of magnitude less than traditional methods.

Transfer Learning Approaches in Bioprocess Engineering: Opportunities and Challenges

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Transfer learning (TL) has recently emerged as a promising approach to overcoming one of the key limitations of bioprocess engineering: data scarcity. By leveraging knowledge from one bioprocess to another, TL allows existing models and data sets to be reused efficiently, accelerating process development, improving prediction accuracy, and ...

A nonsmooth critical point theory approach to some nonlinear elliptic equations in {${\Bbb R}^n$}

open access: yesDifferential and Integral Equations, 2000
A quasilinear elliptic equation \[ - \sum^{n}_{i,j=1} D_{j}\bigl(a_{ij}(x,u)D_{i}u\bigr) + \frac 12\sum^{n}_{i,j=1} {\partial a_{ij}\over\partial u} (x,u)D_{i}uD_{j}u + b(x)u = f(x,u) \tag{1} \] in \(\mathbb R^{n}\) is studied. Suppose that \(b\in L^\infty_{\text{loc}} (\mathbb R^{n})\) and \(b\geq b_{0}>0\) almost everywhere for a constant \(b_0 ...

A Comparison of Realized Measures of Integrated Volatility: Price Duration‐ vs. Return‐Based Approaches

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the accuracy of a variety of parametric price duration‐based realized variance estimators constructed via various financial duration models and compare their forecasting performance with the performance of various nonparametric return‐based realized variance estimators.
