On Two Questions About Topological (and Nonstandard) Extensions

Monatshefte für Mathematik, 2006
A topological extension of a set \(X\) with the discrete topology is defined in this paper to be a \(T_1\) topological space \({}^*X\) containing \(X\), such that every function \(f: X \to X\) extends to a continuous function \({}^*f : {}^*X \to {}^*X\) in such a way that (1) \({}^*\) is a functor, i.e., \({}^*g \circ {}^*f = {}^*(g \circ f)\) for all \

A Current Ripple Suppression Strategy for Model Predictive Current Control With an Improved Model of PMSM

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics
In this article, a novel current ripple suppression strategy for model predictive current control (MPCC) with an improved model of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is proposed.

Stability Concepts in Topological Dynamics by Nonstandard Methods

Acta Applicandae Mathematica, 1997
Motivated by, and using, methods of nonstandard analysis, the paper introduces four topologically-defined concepts of stability of a continuous semiflow on a compact subset \(K\) of \(R^{n}\). Standard versions of the results are also presented. Unfortunately, the paper lacks examples showing that the stability definitions it presents are interesting ...

Nonstandard Higgs decays with visible and missing energy

, 2007
Experimental and theoretical clues both suggest that the Higgs boson has a mass below the LEP2 lower limit of 114.4 GeV. If true, this suggests that the dominant Higgs decay is nonstandard while the production cross sections remain unmodified.

A New Single-Switch Wide Voltage Gain Nonisolated DC-DC Buck-Boost Converter Integrating a Switched Inductor Network

IEEE International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering
Wide range voltage gain DC-DC converters are needed for various applications. Applications pertaining to renewable energy sources, such as solar generators, serve as examples of this.

A nonstandard density theorem for weak topologies on Banach and Bochner spaces

Mathematical Logic Quarterly, 2003
AbstractWe prove a nonstandard density result. It asserts that if a particular formula is true for functions in a set K of linear continuous functions between Banach spaces E and D, then it remains valid for functions that are limits, in the uniform convergence topology on a given class ℳ︁ of subsets of E, of nets of vectors in K.
