Capnocytophaga found in root canal system of a nonvital tooth

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1982
Abstract An organism previously unreported in the endodontic literature, Capnocytophaga was isolated and identified through the use of a routine culture. Familiarity with this organism may be essential for eradication of sepsis in patients with underlying neoplastic disease in the presence of nonvital teeth.

An in vitro comparison of nonvital bleaching techniques in the discolored tooth

Journal of Endodontics, 1982
In this study, teeth were stained in vitro to compare and evaluate the results of three commonly used nonvital bleaching techniques: the thermocatalytic, the “walking bleach,” and the combination. The three techniques were equally effective in bleaching crowns in which pulpal hemorrhage was the primary cause of discoloration.

Apexification in a Nonvital Tooth by Control of Infection

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1980
Incomplete formation of roots in permanent dentition because of death of the pulps is fairly common. Various pastes are used in apexification procedures. It has been suggested that minimum mechanical intervention and removal of infection alone may be sufficient. A case is reported in which this was observed.
