Distribution of Norepinephrine in the Heart [PDF]
THE concentrations of norepinephrine found by various investigators in the hearts of different animal species are summarized in the 1956 monograph by von Euler1. These values range from 0.3 to 1.0 µgm. per gm. of heart tissue.

Effect of norepinephrine uptake blockers on norepinephrine kinetics
Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1981We studied the effect of a single oral dose of the neuronal norepinephrine uptake blocker, desipramine 125 mg, on norepinephrine kinetics. Desipramine reduced the plasma norepinephrine clearance by approximately 20%, from 1.33 +/- 0.22 to 1.08 +/- 0.19 l/m2/min (p less than 0.01).

The Norepinephrine Transporter and Pheochromocytoma
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 2006Abstract: Pheochromocytomas are rare neuroendocrine tumors of chromaffin cell origin that synthesize and secrete excess quantities of catecholamines and other vasoactive peptides. Pheochromocytomas also express the norepinephrine transporter (NET), a molecule that is used clinically as a means of incorporating radiolabelled substrates such as 131I ...

Norepinephrine, neurodevelopment and behavior
Neurochemistry International, 2020Neurotransmitters play critical roles in the developing nervous system. Among the neurotransmitters, norepinephrine (NE) is in particular postulated to be an important regulator of brain development. NE is expressed during early stages of development and is known to regulate both the development of noradrenergic neurons and the development of target ...
