Norethindrone plasma levels in human subjects
Life Sciences, 1974Abstract An analytical procedure for the estimation of norethindrone (17β-hydrox-19-nor-17α-pregn-4-en-20-yn-3-one) in human plasma has been developed. After extraction and purification on a silver ion exchange column, norethindrone is converted to a methoxime-trimethylsilyl ether derivative and measured by a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer ...

Bioavailability of norethindrone in human subjects
European Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, 1978A competitive protein binding assay for norethindrone was developed to measure plasma levels in human subjects. The plasma levels were considerably higher in women than in men, especially at low dose levels. The plasma levels were directly related to the dose in men; but greater variations in the plasma levels were observed in women.

Jaundice Associated with Norethindrone Acetate Therapy
New England Journal of Medicine, 1962METHYLTESTOSTERONE has been known to be associated with jaundice and tissue evidence of biliary cholestasis, as mentioned by Werner in 19501 and by subsequent authors.2 Certain modifications of the...

Contraception, 1991
Subdermal silastic implants releasing norethindrone acetate were inserted in five rhesus monkeys for a period of seven months. The serum norethindrone (NET) levels were estimated from blood samples collected fortnightly. There was an initial high level of NET followed by fluctuating levels of NET in 4 out of five monkeys.

[Pharmacokinetics of norethindrone-3-oxime and norethindrone in rhesus monkeys].
Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 1991After intravenous administration or nasal feeding of (6, 7-3H)-labelled norethindrone-3-oxime (NETO) or norethindrone (NET) to rhesus monkeys, the serum concentrations were determined by measuring the radioactivity after separation with HPLC. The serum concentrations of total extractable radioactivity were also measured without HPLC separation.

Ovarian morphology following cyclic norethindrone-mestranol therapy
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1967Ovarian tissue from 10 patients previously treated with norethindrone-mestranol for 1 to 3 cycles was studied grossly and microscopically. Ovulation prior to institution of therapy was ascertained either by curetted secretory endometrium or a recent term pregnancy.

Norethindrone acetate and estradiol-induced endometrial hyperplasia
Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2000To identify the lowest effective continuous dose of norethindrone acetate that significantly reduces 12-month incidence of endometrial hyperplasia associated with unopposed 17beta-estradiol (E2), 1 mg.In a double-masked, randomized, multicenter study, 1176 healthy postmenopausal women 45 years of age or older without evidence of endometrial ...

Norlutin, norethindrone, norethisterone - correction
Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, 1962In the article on Duphaston (Sept. 21, p. 46) norethindrone (Norlutin - Parke, Davis), known in Britain by the generic name norethisterone, was mentioned as a drug with oestrogenic as well as progestational activity. In Britain this substance is not marketed by Parke, Davis, but only by Schering, Berlin, whose trade name is ‘Primolut N’.

[Pharmacokinetics of norethindrone-oxime and norethindrone in rabbits after oral administration].
Yao xue xue bao = Acta pharmaceutica Sinica, 1989After oral administration of [3H]-labelled norethindrone-oxime (NETO) or norethindrone (NET) to rabbits, the blood concentrations of NETO and NET were determined by measuring the radioactivity after separation with HPLC. The pharmacokinetic parameters of the compounds were also compared. Experimental results indicate that both NETO and NET were quickly

Contraception With Norethindrone 0.35 mg Administered Continuously
Southern Medical Journal, 1976Microdose norethindrone (0.35 mg taken each day without interruption) was used as an oral contraceptive agent by 168 women for 4,264 months over a five-year span. Seven pregnancies occurred with regular use and two with irregular use, resulting in a drug-effectiveness rate of 1.9 and a use-effectiveness rate of 2.5 per 100 woman-years. Cycle length was
