Amyloidogenic Peptide Fragments Designed From Bacterial Collagen‐like Proteins Form Hydrogel
This study identified amyloidogenic sequence motifs in bacterial collagen‐like proteins and exploited these to design peptides that self‐assemble into β‐sheet fibers and form hydrogels. One hydrogel supported healthy fibroblast growth, showing promise for biocompatible materials. Our work demonstrates that bacterial sequences can be harnessed to create

A reactive in situ solution complexation strategy reconstructs the surface of 2.0 eV ultra‐wide‐bandgap perovskites via proton transfer. This chemical modulation eliminates metallic defects and induces a degenerate‐like n‐type surface, establishing an Ohmic tunneling contact.

Weak-star quasi norm attaining operators
For Banach spaces $X$ and $Y$, a bounded linear operator $T\colon X \longrightarrow Y^*$ is said to weak-star quasi attain its norm if the $σ(Y^*,Y)$-closure of the image by $T$ of the unit ball of $X$ intersects the sphere of radius $\|T\|$ centred at the origin in $Y^*$. This notion is inspired by the quasi-norm attainment of operators introduced and

Norm-Attaining Operators into Strictly Convex Banach Spaces
Bishop and Phelps proved in 1961 that the set of scalar valued norm attaining bounded linear operators on any Banach space \(X\) is dense in \(X^*\). The author considers here the problem of extending this result to one in which the scalar field is replaced by a more general Banach space \(Y\), showing that if \(Y\) is strictly convex and contains a ...

Gold bipyramids can act as efficient plasmonic nanoheaters, but they often reshape during laser heating. This study shows that oxygen nanobubbles drive oxidative etching and that surface ligands control stability. CTAB‐ and citrate‐coated particles blunt and lose optical performance, whereas polystyrene sulfonate preserves shape and heating by ...

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.

This work develops 3D‐printable tribopolymer networks that can enhance triboelectric performance under high humidity environments. Polar hydrophilic functional groups and incorporation of zwitterionic monomers promote bound‐water–dominated interfacial polarization thereby increasing electrical outputs.
