Reduced normal forms are not extensive forms
Economic Theory Bulletin, 2020Fundamental results in the theory of extensive form games have singled out the reduced normal form as the key representation of a game in terms of strategic equivalence. In a precise sense, the reduced normal form contains all strategically relevant information.

On normal forms in Łukasiewicz logic
Archive for Mathematical Logic, 2004McNaughton functions of \(n\) variables are continuous, piecewise linear functions with integer coefficients from the hypercube \([0,1]^n\) to \([0,1]\). A McNaughton function is called simple, if there is a real polynomial \(g({\mathbf x}) = {\mathbf a \cdot \mathbf x } + b\) with integral coefficients such that \(f({\mathbf x})=g^\sharp ({\mathbf x})\

Normal forms of the degrees of a volume form [PDF]
This paper deals with the classification problem of degrees of a volume form of the type \(f^{\beta}(x)h(x)dx\) where \(\beta\in {\mathbb{C}}\setminus \{0\}\), \(x\in {\mathbb{C}}^ n\), and f(x), h(x) are holomorphic germs from \(({\mathbb{C}}^ n,0)\) to (\({\mathbb{C}},0)\) such that f(x) has a singularity of finite multiplicity \(\mu\) at the origin.

Maximal Monoids of Normal Form
Fundamenta Informaticae, 1982In this paper, a characterization of the sets of normal forms which are monoids with respect to the composition combinator is obtained as application of the type theory to λ-calculus developed in [5]. The main result is that there is a monoid of normal form which is maximal in the sense that all extensions lead to terms without normal forms.

The constrained normal form algorithm
Celestial Mechanics, 1988This paper describes an algorithm which brings a regularizable polynomial perturbation of a three degree of freedom Kepler problem into a normal form which Poisson commutes with the Kepler Hamiltonian. We illustrate the algorithm with an example: the quadratic Zeeman effect.

For normal form games the Nash equilibrium concept has to be refined since a Nash equilibrium of such a game need not be robust, i.e. it may be unstable against small perturbations in the data of the game. In this chapter, we will consider various refinements of the Nash concept for this class of games, all of which require an equilibrium to satisfy ...
