The Normalization of Saudi Law
2022Abstract Saudi Arabia has never commanded more attention and yet it remains one of the world’s least understood countries. The book draws on a systematic study of Saudi law over nearly a decade; the author’s involvement as a legal expert in landmark decisions around the world; and his experience as a law professor in leading universities

SUGGESTIONS ON THE NORMAL LAW OF ERRORS
The Canadian Surveyor, 1964In this article it is shown that Hagen’s theory of errors is not complete and requires some additional hypotheses. One of these, which is extremely simple and possesses a clear experimental meaning, consists in assuming that, in addition to positive and negative elementary errors (with respective probabilities p and q), there is also a third kind of ...

On the Spherical Approach to the Normal Distribution Law
American Journal of Mathematics, 1940Introduction. There are two classical "geometrical" approaches to the normal distribution law. One of these is represented by the theory of the addition of independent random variables or, equivalently, by the theory of convolutions. This approach, followed in a general and precise manner by P. Levy and his followers, is based on the consideration of a

This article is only a very general and theoretical introduction to the modified normal distributions. The author is presently engaged in further development of the theory in the analysis of various examples, the most remarkable of which are of astronomical origin.

On Polynomial Statistics for the Normal and Related Laws
Theory of Probability & Its Applications, 1964Polynomial statistics are studied for a normal vector and a random vector related to the normal one (this concept is defined by means of differential equations). It is proved that the independence property of polynomial statistics is, roughly speaking, equivalent to the absence of correlation between a finite number of special functions of them.

A Note on Normal Attraction to a Stable Law
Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1971Let X1, X2, …, be a sequence of independent and identically distributed random variables, with the common distribution function F(x). The sequence is said to be normally attracted to a stable law V with characteristic exponent α, if for some an (converges in distribution to V). Necessary and sufficient conditions for normal attraction are known (cf [1,

On Characterizing the Normal Distribution by Student's Law
Biometrika, 1966Summary: Let \(X_0,X_1,\dots,X_n\) be \(n+1\) real independent random variables \((n \geq 2)\) satisfying the condition \(P(X_k = 0) = 0\) and having distributions symmetrical about zero. A necessary and sufficient condition for \(X_k\) to be identically normally distributed with zero mean, and common standard deviation \(\sigma\), is that \(Y_1,Y_2 ...
