Realmente: advérbio modal e implicatura generalizada

open access: yesPrincipia: An International Journal of Epistemology, 2016
The paper compares necessariamente p, p, and realmente p in Brazilian Portuguese. It argues that realmente is an epistemic modal. The main difference with respect to necessariamente is the ordering source: the former takes the real world, the latter, the

Non-monotonic pseudo-gap in high-Tc cuprates

open access: yes, 2008
The mechanism of high temperature superconductivity is not resolved for so long because the normal state of cuprates is not yet understood. Here we show that the normal state pseudo-gap exhibits an unexpected non-monotonic temperature dependence, which ...

Orders with a normal basis [PDF]

open access: yesCzechoslovak Mathematical Journal, 1985
The author proves, using circulant matrices, that if an abelian algebraic number field \(K\) has an integral normal basis then infinitely many orders in \(K\) have such a basis, and notes that if \(K\) has no normal integral basis then no order in \(K\) can have such a basis.

The general boson normal ordering problem [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We solve the boson normal ordering problem for F[(a † ) r a s ] , with r , s positive integers, [a,a † ]=1 , i.e., we provide exact and explicit expressions for its normal form N {F[(a † ) r a s ]} , where in N (F) all a 's are to the right. The solution

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A generalization of boson normal ordering

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we define generalizations of boson normal ordering. These are based on the number of contractions whose vertices are next to each other in the linear representation of the boson operator function.

Representations of monomiality principle with Sheffer-type polynomials and boson normal ordering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We construct explicit representations of the Heisenberg–Weyl algebra [ P,M ]= 1 in terms of ladder operators acting in the space of Sheffertype polynomials. Thus we establish a link between the monomiality principleand the umbral calculus. We use certain

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Boson normal ordering via substitutions and Sheffer-type polynomials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We solve the boson normal ordering problem for ( q ( a † ) a + v ( a † ) ) n with arbitrary functions q and v and integer n , where a and a † are boson annihilation and creation operators, satisfying [ a , a † ] = 1 .

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
