Normal Subtwistor Structures

open access: yesIzvestiya of Altai State University
This paper introduces the concept of normal subtwistor structure. It is proved that any manifold that admits a normal subtwistor structure is locally isometric to direct product of Hermitian submanifold and Riemannian submanifold. However, it is locally isometric to the direct product of Kahler submanifold and Riemannian submanifold when the normal ...

Finding the closest normal structured matrix

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2021
Given a structured matrix $A$ we study the problem of finding the closest normal matrix with the same structure. The structures of our interest are: Hamiltonian, skew-Hamiltonian, per-Hermitian, and perskew-Hermitian. We develop a structure-preserving Jacobi-type algorithm for finding the closest normal structured matrix and show that such algorithm ...

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Preparation and Electrochemical Performance of Polymer-derived SiCN-graphite Composite as Anode Material for Lithium Ion Batteries

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2012
The composite of silicon carbonitride and graphite (SiCN-graphite) composite was synthesized by pyrolyzing the mixture of polysilylethylenediamine-derived amorphous SiCN and graphite powder at a temperature of 1000 °C for 1 h in argon.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...
