t-Structures are Normal Torsion Theories [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Categorical Structures, 2015
We characterize $t$-structures in stable $\infty$-categories as suitable quasicategorical factorization systems. More precisely we show that a $t$-structure $\mathfrak{t}$ on a stable $\infty$-category $\mathbf{C}$ is equivalent to a normal torsion theory $\mathbb{F}$ on $\mathbf{C}$, i.e. to a factorization system $\mathbb{F}=(\mathcal{E},\mathcal{M})$

Design and Experimental Performance of a Novel Piezoelectric Inertial Actuator for Magnetorheological Fluid Control Using Permanent Magnet

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A piezoelectric inertial actuator for magnetorheological fluid (MRF) control using permanent magnet is proposed in this paper. The stable linear motion of the actuator with high controllability is obtained by integrating the piezoelectric vibrator and ...

The twistor space of a quaternionic contact manifold [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We show that the CR structure on the twistor space of a quaternionic contact structure described by Biquard is normal if and only if the Ricci curvature of the Biquard connection commutes with the endomorphisms in the quaternionic structure of the ...

On some fixed point theorems in Banach spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1982
In this paper, some fixed point theorems are proved for multi-mappings as well as a pair of mappings. These extend certain known results due to Kirk, Browder, Kanna, Ćirić and Rhoades.

Anomalous Surface Impedance in a Normal-metal/Superconductor Junction with a Spin-active Interface [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We discuss the surface impedance (Z=R-iX) of a normal-metal/superconductor proximity structure taking into account the spin-dependent potential at the junction interface. Because of the spin mixing transport at the interface, odd-frequency spin-triplet s-

Plasma-Driven Photocatalysis Based on Gold Nanoporous Arrays

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
Various effects caused by surface plasmons including enhanced electromagnetic field, local heating, and excited electrons/holes can not only redistribute the electromagnetic field in the time domain and space but also redistribute the excited carriers ...

Information-theoretic measurements of coupling between structure and dynamics in glass-formers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We analyse the connections between structure and dynamics in two model glass-formers, using the mutual information between an initial configuration and the ensuing dynamics to compare the predictive value of different structural observables.

Normal Structure in James Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1996
Let \(X\) be a Banach space with a basis \((x_n)\). Let \(c_0\) be the space of all real sequences that converges to \(0\). The famous James space \(J(X)\) [\textit{R. C. James}, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA 37, 174-177 (1951; Zbl 0042.36102)] consists of all sequences \((\alpha_n)\in c_0\) for which \[ \sup\Biggl\{\Biggl|\sum_{1\leq i\leq n}(\alpha_{p_i}

Graphene-coupled nanowire hybrid plasmonic gap mode–driven catalytic reaction revealed by surface-enhanced Raman scattering

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2020
The single-layer graphene (SLG)-coupled nanowire (NW) hybrid plasmonic gap mode (PGM)-driven molecular catalytic reaction was investigated experimentally and theoretically.
