PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

How unique is the Asymptotic Normalisation Coefficient (ANC) method?

open access: yes, 2000
The asymptotic normalisation coefficients (ANC) for the vertex $^{10}$B $\to$ $^9$Be + p is deduced from a set of different proton transfer reactions at different energies.

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Strong normalisation for applied lambda calculi

open access: yes, 2005
We consider the untyped lambda calculus with constructors and recursively defined constants. We construct a domain-theoretic model such that any term not denoting bottom is strongly normalising provided all its `stratified approximations' are.

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

Short Timescale AGN X-ray Variability with EXOSAT: Black hole mass and Normalised Variability Amplitude

open access: yes, 2012
The old EXOSAT medium energy measurements of high frequency (HF) AGN power spectral normalisation are re-examined in the light of accurate black hole mass determinations which were not available when these data were first published (Green et al 1993). It
