Non-normality and recursive unit root test for PPP: Solving the PPP puzzle? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we carry out unit root tests on real exchange rates recursively as in Caporale et al (2003), but, following Arghyrou and Gregoriou (2007), we adjust the residuals for non-normality using a wild bootstrap method.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Semi-moments based tests of normality and the evolution of stock returns towards normality. [PDF]

open access: yes
Testing for normality is of paramount importance in many areas of science since the Gaussian distribution is a key hypothesis in many models. As the use of semi–moments is increasing in physics, economics or finance, often to judge the distributional ...

Finite-sample Quantiles of The Jarque-Bera Test [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
http://www.brunel.ac.uk/about/acad/sssl/ssslresearch/efwpsThe nite-sample null distribution of the Jarque-Bera Lagrange multiplier test for normality di¤ers considerably from the asymptotic 2 (2).

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

A modified Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we propose an improvement of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality. In the current implementation of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, a sample is compared with a normal distribution where the sample mean and the sample variance are used as ...

Pressure Test in Normal Subjects

open access: yesPractica oto-rhino-laryngologica. Suppl., 1993
The application of pressure to the middle ear changes the normal inner ear pressure in animal experiments. In this study we tested the effect of exposure to under- or overpressure on hearing in a total of 78 normal ears (40 subjects) in a soundproof pressure chamber.

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Use of Non-Parametric Approaches on Normality of Hydrologic Variables

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Agriculture: Food Science and Technology, 2018
Parametric approaches in statistical analysis assume that any given data are normally distributed. Therefore, the test of whether this conventional assumption is valid should be made in this context of the available data’s normality before being passed ...

Normality Testing- A New Direction [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper is concerned with the evaluation of the performance of the normality tests to ensure the validity of the t-statistics used for assessing significance of regressors in a regression model.
