The directional normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) was calculated by using field measured spectral data of the winter wheat canopies at the crop different growth and development stages. In the principal plane, the hotspot and directional NDVI were analyzed.

Upscale integration of normalized difference vegetation index: the problem of spatial heterogeneity
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 1992The correspondence between the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) calculated from average reflectances, M/sub NDVI/, and NDVI integrated from individual NDVIs, I/sub NDVI/, by simulating AVHRR data from high spatial resolution SPOT 1 Haute Resolution Visible radiometer and Landsat Thematic Mapper data is analyzed.

A simple equation relating the Microwave Polarization Difference Index (MPDI) and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is proposed which represents well data obtained from Nimbus 7/SMMR at 37 GHz and NOAA/AVHRR Channels 1 and 2. It is found that there is a limit which is characteristic of a particular type of cover for which both indices ...

Relation between the normalized difference vegetation index and ecological variables
Remote Sensing of Environment, 1991Abstract The objectives of this study were to analyze the relationship between the AVHRR data [transformed into a normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI)] and ecological variables and, secondly, to evaluate the possibility of estimating actual evapotranspiration using AVHRR and other readily available data.

Infrared Normalized Difference Vegetation Index for Sentinel-2A Imagery
2020 17th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON), 2020Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is widely applied in several applications. It can be used to classify or identify the land coverage. However, the haze and cloud often disturb the accuracy of this value, which decreases the application performance.

A Simplified Atmospheric Correction Procedure for the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index
Photogrammetric Engineering & Remote Sensing, 2003Accurate corrections of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for atmospheric effects are currently based on modeling the physical behavior of radiation as it passes through the atmosphere. An important requirement for application of the physical models is detailed information on atmospheric humidity and particles.

On the Use of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index as an Indicator of Rainfall
1994The remotely sensed Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, or NDVI, is being used operationally to evaluate rainfall and vegetation growth. It shows a good relationship to these variables in relatively dry locations, but the index saturates under humid conditions.

Abstract An experimental relation between the thermal ermssrvity and the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index of vegetation canopies has been found by van de Griend and Owe. This relationship is investigated by means of aradiative transfer model. The relationship was highly sensitive to soil and leaf emissivities, canopy structure, optical properties

Optimum Monitoring Time for the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index of Crops
Transactions of the ASABE, 2015Influenced by such factors as air temperature, humidity, solar radiation, and soil moisture, the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) for remote sensing of vegetation always changes dynamically within a day. Therefore, choosing the proper time to monitor the index is very important so as to minimize the effects of these factors. In this study,
