Vegetation NDVI Linked to Temperature and Precipitation in the Upper Catchments of Yellow River [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Vegetation in the upper catchment of Yellow River is critical for the ecological stability of the whole watershed. The dominant vegetation cover types in this region are grassland and forest, which can strongly influence the eco-environmental status of ...

Evaluating Potential of MODIS-based Indices in Determining “Snow Gone” Stage over Forest-dominant Regions

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2010
“Snow gone” (SGN) stage is one of the critical variables that describe the start of the official forest fire season in the Canadian Province of Alberta. In this paper, our objective is to evaluate the potential of MODIS-based indices for determining the ...

Regional equivalent water thickness modeling from remote sensing across a tree cover/lai gradient in mediterranean forests of northern Tunisia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The performance of vegetation indexes derived from moderate resolution imaging spectroradiometer (MODIS) sensors is explored for drought monitoring in the forests of Northern Tunisia; representing a transition zone between the Mediterranean Sea and the ...

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

VEGETATION INDICES FOR IRRIGATED CORN MONITORING [PDF]

open access: yesEngenharia Agrícola, 2020
Monitoring of large agricultural lands is often hampered by data collection logistics at field level. To solve such a problem, remote sensing techniques have been used to estimate vegetation indices, which can subsidize crop management decision-making ...

Analyzing the correlation of forest and wetland with land surface temperature by using geospatial technology: a case of Yayo district, Southwestern Ethiopia

open access: yesGeocarto International, 2023
Forests and wetlands played a crucial role in minimizing the increasing trends of land surface temperature (LST). This study aimed to analyze the contribution of forests and wetlands on LST in Yayo district using multi-spectral and multi-temporal ...
