Advancing Age Modulates Associations Between Cognitive Impairment and Brain Volumes in Early MS
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment is common in multiple sclerosis (MS), but manifestations following the first demyelinating event are relatively unexplored. We investigated cross‐sectional associations between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)–derived brain volumes and the presence of cognitive impairment outcomes five years after the first ...

Let \(L(z)=\sqrt{\|z\|^2+\sqrt{\|z\|^4-|\langle z, \bar z\rangle|^2}}\), where \(\langle\;,\;\rangle\) is the standard inner product in \({\mathbb C}^n\) and \(\|\;\|\) the corresponding norm. It is proved that \(\left(L(z)^p+ \left({|\langle z, \bar z\rangle|}\over{L(z)}\right)^p\right)^{1\over p}\) is a norm on \({\mathbb C}^n\) for each \(p\geq 1\).

Collective life is structured by norms. Even though such norms manifest as regularities for those who observe them, they also constitute rules to follow or ideals to mimic. May these norms be social, moral, or legal, they organize practices and orient judgments, especially in the economic sphere.
