LETTERS TO THE EDITOR IN MEDICINE SHOULD NOT BE GENERATED BY AI

open access: yesCentral Asian Journal of Medical Hypotheses and Ethics
Many academics might be enthusiastic about the current wave of generative artificial intelligence (GAI), using large language models like ChatGPT or DeepSeek. We show that the reputation of letters to the editor (LTEs), which play important communicative

La littératie en voie de changement : respect du genre et jonctions interpropositionnelles dans des lettres à des professionnels du droit sur Internet

open access: yesDiscours, 2018
The article deals with conventions of written French. Democratization of writing – every speaker writes and everyone can publish texts on the Internet – is seen as a catalyst for the change of norms of written French.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

On Turan-type inequalities for trigonometric polynomials of half-integer order

open access: yesResearches in Mathematics, 2020
Some exact inequalities of the Turan type are obtained in the paper for trigonometric polynomials $h(x)$ of half-interger order $n+\frac {1}{2}$, $n=1, 2, ...$, such that all $2n+1$ their zeros are real and located on a segment $[0;2\pi )$.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
