Noroviruses — Challenges to Control
New England Journal of Medicine, 2007Norovirus infections are worldwide in distribution and affect all age groups. Dr. Raphael Dolin writes that the biologic, physicochemical, and epidemiologic features of noroviruses present a serious challenge for infection control.

Broad range RT-PCR assays targeting human noroviruses also detect swine noroviruses
Food Microbiology, 2009Conventional broad range RT-PCR and real time RT-PCR assays designed to detect human noroviruses (NoVs) also efficiently detect swine NoVs. Investigation of the primers and probe binding sites revealed strong homologies between swine NoVs genomic sequences and human primer sequences.

Molecular Detection and Genotyping of Noroviruses
Food and Environmental Virology, 2012Noroviruses (NoVs) are a major cause of gastroenteritis worldwide in humans and animals and are known as very infectious viral agents. They are spread through feces and vomit via several transmission routes involving person-to-person contact, food, and water.

2014Acute gastroenteritis (AGE) is among the most common diseases of humankind affecting people of all ages but particularly children and the elderly. In developing countries, AGE remains one of the most important causes of death in children. In decades past, the etiology of the majority of cases of AGE remained unidentified. More recently, improvements in
