Navifacial conditions in the north-west Pacific Ocean
Journal of the Oceanographical Society of Japan, 1977Since 1973, four Japanese ore carriers have made regular surface measurements of temperature and salinity, every 60 nautical miles, between New Caledonia and Japan. They have followed two different routes; a western one from Noumea (22°16′S, 166°27′E) in New-Caledonia to Miyazu, Wakasa Bay (35°32′N, 135°12′E) in Japan crossing the equator at 150°E, and

Decadal behaviors of tropical storm tracks in the North West Pacific Ocean
Atmospheric Research, 2020Abstract Quantitative analysis on the shape of 959 tropical storm (TS) tracks in the North West Pacific (NWP) basin was carried out over the period from 1977 to 2016 by using International Best Track Archive for Climate Stewardship (IBTrACS) provided by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) based on an established track sinuosity ...

Metal accumulation in mussels of the Kuril Islands, north-west Pacific Ocean
Marine Environmental Research, 2002Concentrations of cadmium, copper, iron, lead, manganese, nickel and zinc were investigated in two species of mussel from the Kuril Islands in the north-western Pacific Ocean: the short-lived mussel Mytilus trossulus and the much larger and longer-lived Crenomytilus grayanus.

Nitrogen requirements in young Douglas-fir of the Pacific North-west
Fertilizer Research, 1988A series of fourteen Pacific North-west Douglas-fir installations, ranging in age from 6 to 26 years were analysed with respect to site factors, foliage nutrients, and growth response to applied fertilizer. Unfertilized basal area increment ranged from 1.2 to 3.1 m2 ha−1 yr−1 with no apparent relationship with soil, stand age or site index.

On the Aleatory and Epistemic Uncertainty of the Wave Resource Assessment in the North West Pacific
Volume 9B: Ocean Renewable Energy, 2014This paper presents the results of quantifying uncertainty associated with the wave resource assessment in the North West Pacific. This study classifies uncertainty into 2 types: aleatory uncertainty and epistemic uncertainty. We defined the source of aleatory uncertainty as inter-annual variability of wave power and the source of epistemic uncertainty
